Bud, it would be nice if you could talk about what your projects cost you from buying the old rigs, to fixing them up, to finish. I would love to have one but it may never happen because of the costs.

Its a topic of discussion, yet I prefer to keep it to myself. I think that sorta information is like "secrets of craftsmanship & business". Deals that I find only pertain to me and lying to someone that they can build a cat for under $5k would be like offering classes on how to make millions flipping houses (not everyone will/can/able to do). With that said, you can know the costs when you see me put in on sale :) If a man can build things, than he just has to find that "deal" and put his elbow grease into it. Everyone values their time differently

Шикарные виды, и самый лучший для катания мягкий и пушистый снег. Кстати по поводу снега, у нас зачастую после снегопада приходит небольшая оттепель и затем мороз. Весь мягкий снежок покрывается довольно жестким слоем наста по которому ехать крайне сложно ибо колеса проваливаются в нижний мягкий слой а брюхо висит на этом слое наста. У вас там такого не случается? а то как ни посмотрю снег всегда просто идеальный)

идеальный т.к. только в "идеальный" катаю... у нас потепления всегда; как и морозы... но в горах где снег; температура +5 до -10 в среднем и снега сыпет иногда метрами в полном смысле слова

I want an Argo or similar unstoppable vehicle on snow tracks that is large enough to sleep in. Any suggestions? It looks like the Centaur would've been large enough if it was a single compartment, but it looks like the cockpit is seperate? My dream is a Hägglund BV 206 but they are way too expensive these days.

I love this machine. I have a chance to buy one but they want $19,000 for it. Not heap for sure but hard to find so thinking about it. It's a 2008 model with 800 hours on it..That seems to be alot.

Did you guys or anyone in your crew happen upon an abandoned utility trailer on the main road with camping gear just down the way from camp 10 towards the cabins? The fringes of the bomb cyclone nailed us 2 days before Thanksgiving while we were camping and the snow drifts overwhelmed us trying to get out of there. It was a difficult decision to leave things behind, not sure if anyone was passing through to break trail. A sno-cat was called in to pull us out. Anyway whoever retrieved the trailer is welcome to it, but if I could get some gear back it would be appreciated. Love your vids!

I came in from the other side and did not go as far as you are describing. Havent heard of anyone talking about any trailer within my circle of acquantences. Please be wiser next time, conditions in that area are very unforgiving, cause for closures are exactly that reason as you described above! Glad to hear you guys made it out safely.

They are original Argo wide tracks as far as I'm aware, Thanks

Those are Argo's factory offered tracks (at time of production), and "turf" kind of tires, specifically used with those tracks.

I have this same rig and know their capabilities and weaknesses, and actual deep snow over about a foot and a half and any actual hill and it just starts digging,and spinning,and in sand it just dies the same thing,and theses argos don't even float they sink in water above 26 inches deep,make a vidieo running in 30 inches of snow up hill ,you'll see it goes no where

@@Mile9homesteadalaska is it about the driver/operator?! I’ve ran the Centaur in snow as deep as 8ft around mt. Hood here in Oregon, yes, breaking any trail is done in Low gear ONLY, but I’ve gone places where my snowmobiling buddies doubted I could follow them, while riders on the top rack were getting ready to bail. In my opinion it’s a very capable and agile rig, diesel provided plenty of power yet was very efficient on fuel, never gave me any reason not to like it. Sure it can’t beat my Tucker’s comfort and overall options, but not many other cats can.

Having owned argos I have found them to be useless. No ground clearance get stuck everywhere. Now they're NEW ??? COPIED FROM RUSSIAN MODEL.. if ARGO DID any engineering I would run away from it.
