Buell XB running issues

Bike is now fixed, ended up a corrupt EEPROM, in ECMSpy under the EEPROM tab there is a check box to the right of the "burn" button, when this is checked you cannot perform a complete EEPROM flash only the changes made get pushed to the EEPROM. Once you uncheck that box you will be able to completely "burn" your saved good EEPROM. Pay special attention when using any software with bluetooth/cable to make changes to the EEPROM, I found it can easily lose connection while making the changes and corrupt the data.

Mine does that weird air hiss sound on closed loop. But is gone with open loop. I just follow revision Moto instructions with my Buell tooth. Any other fixes? I noticed by xb12 doesn’t like to rev blip in neutral unless rolling. Kinda weird

Ernesto, No video is needed, all you need is software that communicates with the ECM. Once you have that (and hopefully a good EEPROM copy before any issues) you would just burn the complete EEPROM file over the old one stored in the ECM, dial in the TPS value for 1,000 RPM idle and set AFV to 100. At least this was the fix for me. The problem was the bluetooth adapter dropping connection while I was tuning the bike so the data was corrupted that was stored in the ECM, better to use a USB cable and software through a laptop so this is less likely to happen...

Thanks for the answer, i used to fight again the same issue, but my metod to solve was different, i had to buy a new ECM (off road only), since the first minute the improve was obvious. .. Cheers!!!

Ernesto Castillo So if you weren't actually inside the ECM (connection to the bike) and this happened, most likely one or both of the harness connections was beginning to fail. If you have the old ECM look for a hair line crack around the outside of them. This happens because the seat begins to rest on the harness and puts stress on the plugs. You can unbolt the ECM and move it loose in front of the battery so there is no more stress on the connection to stop it from happening again.

You will need an eeprom file that matches your ECMID, then you will need software to flash the ECM with the eeprom, if you haven't messed with the ECM settings it is 99.9% unlikely this is the same problem though.

@@flaviencabrera8574 there are hundreds of reasons why you could be having the issue, in the video I had the file get corrupted from laptop to ECM because of a drop in Bluetooth connection. Most likely you are trying to burn an eeprom file that doesn't match your ECMID, 2007 USA model XB12S use BUEIB (stock) or BUEGB (race) ECMIDs, you have to use the eeprom ID that matches the ECM or the bike will not work. If you saved a copy of the eeprom before making changes, burn that file back to the ECM and see if it works again.
