A couple practical applications of this concept: Black Grail tends to be much less effective on servants with an event damage bonus, since both NP damage up and event damage bonus are powermod. Full attack stat CEs are extremely powerful, because raising your character’s attack stat increases the base being multiplied by everything else. This effect is more pronounced for servants with lower base attack values. Resistance down and card effectiveness up do exactly the same thing and stack additively, as does defense down and attack up. This means that, if an enemy has attack/card up self-buffs, you will need more than 100% defense/resistance up to reduce their damage to zero. When you increase a value by multiplication (for example, +50% attack up) every additional point is worth less than the previous point. If you are reducing a value by multiplication (for example, 50% defense up) each point is worth more than the previous point. Increasing your defense from 90% to 95% results in taking half as much damage as before, but increasing your attack from 100% to 200% only results in dealing 50% more damage.

Just a PSA: We did make a mistake with the Fou Prints. They are not flat attack, they enhance the servants actual attack stat specifically when using that card, so they're much better than presented here and will stack multiplicatively. As always, thanks for watching! Don't get to like the video and subscribe for more! 👍

Oooh that's explain why double waver + summer Jeanne alter + poster girl (60% atk up) didn't one shot barbatos, but black grail(60% np damage up) did one shot barbatos. So wavers atk up+atk up+poster girl atk up are additive, but wavers atk up and black grail they multiplied

@Khadroth Very nice guide as usual. Might need to point out a small correction though. Fou Paws arent flat damage bonuses that are added after the formula like Divinity. They do in fact get factored in as regular attack buffs in the damage calculation, with the only difference that theyre exclusive to the specific card theyre applied to.

Poor Barbados is gonna get nuked by this. Especially with my set up ready. Yeah buff stacking is fun to play with to have a super nuke in back. I like making a back up until buffed all the way for harder bosses while a secondary DPS takes out the break bars to finish off the boss. Super fun. Protea was a good example of jalter summer buffing then super damage to beat her. Buster I use ox king to double the buster stacks while arts Tamamo and Nero bride ce for the help overall.

Great guide Khad, thank you! You said that many welfare CEs outpace Golden Sumo in multiplicative damage, can you give some examples please?
@Khadroth
@Khadroth 3 жыл бұрын
So a lot of this will depend on what's going on. But if we're 3 turn farming with NPs, golden sumo gets passed by just about every other good welfare alternative. Aerial Drive, Heavenly Demon Princess, and Holy Night Supper should all outpace it if used correctly. If you're not in a 3 turn and having to significantly card though it can pull ahead. But sadly most of those circumstances come during events where you'll be more likely to be taking the event CEs instead. That's sort of the reason I harped on sumo, its frequently put on a pedestal by players who don't understand buff stacking. It's a great CE, but like all the others, its situational.

Could you make one of these videos on lottery farming, im new and keep hearing about it and how they are important to farm, apparently it happens during events in summer and Christmas but that’s all I really know, it also doesn’t help that i havent fully completed any event so far so just generally speaking a video on events would also be helpful cuz i kinda got lost on what to do

I still take Golden Sumo most of the time, since it enhances _all_ of the servant's cards, so I think the overall damage ends up higher.

Thanks for the explanation, one quick question I have is that do buffs stack better if the amount of damage they increases is equal among them. So for example would Artoria with a 70% buster, 70% attack and 10% np damage up do the same NP damage as an Artoria who has the same buffs but they are all 50% instead?
@MrArrino
@MrArrino 3 жыл бұрын
50% at every buff is better than 70%/70%/10% - just multiply 1.5x1.5x1.5 = 3.375 (which is 237.5% additional damage) and compare this to 1.7x1.7x1.1 = 3.179 (217.9%). Maybe not much, but when you are dealing damage in hundred of thousands it can make a difference.

I have a very important but specific question. For the current saber wars 2 event, what would be the best buff type to stack with my existing event buffs on my space ishtar, including the servant buff that space ishtar receives, 1 binary songstress ce on space ishtar, and 2 Bestia Del Sol's, 1 on each of my other characters

Does the multiplicitive stacking also apply with np gain? (Such as an arts buff mixed with an np generation buff)
@Khadroth
@Khadroth 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Basically Card Type Up or Down is multiplicative with np gain. Other stuff like Attack up and NP damage for instance don't directly effect it (they only can by changing hits to overkill).

Does the timing of buffs affect? For example, if I buff a Spishtar with 20% arts, then 20% arts and at last a 50% np gain, the result would be the same if I used the np gain buff before the arts ones?

so I had a burning question because you said that crit damage is stacking multiplicitavely with eachother so I was wondering if you give a servant a 30% charisma and a 50% crit damage (waver) does that mean you get more damage from non crit then if you didnt give a servant the crit damage?
@blacklight6751
@blacklight6751 3 жыл бұрын
If the servant doesn’t crit, then crit damage modifiers are ignored. You will only see the 30% atk up and 500 flat damage up. If the attack crits, then you will see both the attack up, flat damage up and the 50% crit up apply to the damage. They are multiplicative, but situational buffs like trait and crit have to meet their requirements to be factored in at all.
@tamade7108
@tamade7108 3 жыл бұрын
@@blacklight6751 ah I see gotcha cause that allways confsed me on buffstacking cause on paper it should increase the magnitude of the charisma buff due to it being 2 different types of buffs but it does make sense that its being ignored when not critting and I gues the same is true for NP damage and attack up
@octapusxft
@octapusxft 3 жыл бұрын
the crit damage up does not affect the NP damage though, right?
@Khadroth

No, it just means that it would stack additively with powermods like event bonus or trait specific buffs lasting the entire turn rather than scaling multiplicatively with them.

Right and that's why you get some weird interactions during some events. Times where you thought the conventional "add np damage because its typically the rarest of the big 3" doesn't add much damage and you'd have actually been better with different types.
