Imagine Coleman when Josh Allen is scrambling trying to keep the play alive...he's gonna be looking for Keon no doubt! That's gonna be such a lifesaver. Literally just gotta throw the ball up and let this 6'4 college basketball AND football player get it. Can't wait. He's 20 soon to be 21 and already has some size on him. He's only going to get stronger too. #GOBills

Scramble drill all day long. It’s the special sauce that wears down the souls of defenses Great pick. He clearly physically capable of improve separation. My gut tells me that’s 100% a product of his environment at FS. He’d find space then the qb would throw him into tighter situation Looking forward to this conversation, come November-December

Ppl are tripping. I think Coleman was a great pick. We need TDs when we get to the red zone, kicking in Buffalo isn't very great, and we needed a solid WR for the red zone, and I think he will fill that need. I believe most of our moving the ball will be done through Allen, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox, and Cook. I think we got Coleman for another scoring option.

He can help in that aspect. However, I think at pick 28 to 33 the Bills should have drafted Worthy, Legette, McConkey over Coleman. All three of those guys have higher ceilings, are more dynamic, and can stretch the field. Coleman lacking speed and separation can't stretch the field. The Bills need that type of WR more than a slow jump ball WR. Not sure how the Bills scouting department evaluates WR. Obviously, they don't value separation skills nearly enough.
@OnlyGamingClips
@OnlyGamingClips 5 ай бұрын
@@michaell5026 I think I know what they're doing, I believe they'll add a great WR like Tyler Boyd before in FA to pair up with Shakir, (who I believe is undervalued), and I think they know Coleman is a boom or bust guy at WR, and we need a big, physical WR that can win in the Red Zone, we have not had that, and I believe he fills that role great. He is amazing on contested balls and has HUGE hands and low drop rate. If they can coach him up and polish his route running, his upside is that of someone like Cooper Kupp or DeVante Adams, and at his worst, we already know he is a great special teams player, so either way, he will fill a needed role. I don't believe they'll put it all on Coleman, and they'll add another WR like Boyd in FA. I still believe Dalton Kincaid becomes the best TE in the NFL this season too, and ppl are underestimating his impact. The Chiefs #1 has been a TE for years now, and I think that's what the Bills are focused on with adding WRs that fill needs as opposed to a Justin Jefferson target monster. I think they wanna keep teams guessing and not have our offense focused on 1 skill player. I think ppl will be surprised with how good we will be in 2024.

@@michaell5026 Worthy was a luxury pick for KC that Buffalo couldn’t afford. Leggette did nothing for 4 years then exploded. I liked him, but not end of the first liked. Carolina reached to get a guy their fans would be excited for. Pearsall and McConkey are similar but I would have loved Pearsall. His skill shows on tape. Catches everything, one of the best route runners in this draft and can get CBs hips turned on double moves. Coleman can catch contested balls (% dropped a lot in 2023 though), but he’s having to make contested catches because he doesn’t separate. The lack of ability to separate will show more against NFL CBs. Buffalo should have tried to use assets to get Brian Thomas Jr after he fell into the 20s. Maybe they did try but they didn’t try hard enough.

@@davidschmidbauer3930 his ball skills, Benjamin was a big, physical WR that won a lot of jump balls, and both were drafted by McDermott. Coleman is his type of WR he looks for, just like Benjamin was, who could've been a great player had he been able to maintain his weight and work ethic. Theyre both big, physical WRs who specialize in contested catches, how aren't they similar? They both aren't very fast either right? Both are big WRs whose main skill is high pointing the ball for contested catches, Benjamin was outstanding in that role his rookie year and I think we will see similar things from Coleman year 1 while he polishes up his route running skills.

@@ismaelmaneiro222 around 25% of Coleman's catches at FSU were contested balls, that's the skillset the Bills did not have and needed, and that's what Benjamin brought to the table year 1 in Carolina. They had Steve Smith as their #1, and Benjamin was that go up and get it WR who caught a lot of TDs that year. He had over 1000 yds and 10 TDS his first season with the same skillset Coleman brings to the table and I believe that's exactly what McDermott is looking for, and I hope we got it, but with a better work ethic than Benjamin had.

Your assessment of Coleman is rose colored for sure. I see a guy who isnt a polished route runner and lacks separation skills. For a big guy he doesnt have a good contested catch rate. With that said, his ceiling is limited because of that inability to separate. He's not a game changer or explosive. There is a lot not to like 15:08 avout this guy. At pick 33 it was a reach. Coleman would have been available in the 40s, 50s, and maybe in the 60s. It amazes me how Bills fans blindly support draft picks.

Let’s face it. Keon Coleman has come into the Bills to be Allen’s ENDZONE target. Speed doesn’t matter in the red zone!! Josh is sick & tired of driving to the red zone and then can’t score because of all the small receivers can’t get open. How many times have we seen the Bills March down field only to sputter in the red zone? Then what happens? Josh scrambles for 3 plays, can’t find anyone open and he ends up trying to run it in or kick an FG. Keon Coleman, is a big, physical, competitive WR who goes out of his way to catch balls. He’s going to be Josh’s safety valve in the red zone. He’s going to the corners of the endzone and playing jump ball for TDs when Josh can’t scramble any more. This is an excellent pick for - not the Bills, but for Josh Allen. Keon Coleman is going to be coming down with a lot of contested, 3rd and goal, up-in-the-air, last-ditch-effort balls. I’m picturing red zone Randy Moss here. Not all-over-the-field Randy Moss but red zone Randy Moss.

I really like Keon Coleman for Josh Allen. Allen plays his best when he is pulling off impossible plays, and Coleman is a very reliable player capable of beating out defenders to make impossible plays. Remember that perfect playoff game against the Patriots a few years back when Allen literally threw an accidental touchdown to Knox, who made a play off of Allen's attempt to throw the ball away? It's smart, capable players with reliable hands that he needs, and Coleman definitely has the physical attributes to make contested catches. He also has the ability to power through people and make some ground after the catch, which I really like. I have noticed that he does the same move Diggs does where he acts like he's slowing down to jog out of bounds, only to charge the defender at the last second and get an extra little bit of ground. As for Cole Bishop... I really like this move. Pre-roster purge, I thought that our best move was to draft a WR and a safety to play with Poyer and Hyde, and to learn from the dynamic duo, and basically hope that the same group of guys could limp to another playoffs. I think that biting the bullet and cleaning out the roster is a bad thing for this upcoming season, but is a fantastic long term move. What makes McDermott's defenses elite is his scheming, and he is allowed to scheme so well because no team has ever been able to exploit his secondaries. If you have an elite secondary, teams are limited to playing inside, where, if you are smarter than them, you can scheme all sorts of traps for them to make their lives miserable. Make other teams hold their breath every single play, praying not that they score or even make a play, but simply that they don't turn over the ball. I trust McDermott to build this up to a future top three defense again, and that with one more receiver, a running back, and signing someone like OBJ, our offense can be competitive too I am excited!!!

@@donnyfoster1859 Doesn't matter. Koleman is faster than Kincaid, and you don't see anyone complaining about him being slow. He has some great hands and him just being out on the field is a threat. Picture this: We're in the red zone, and lined up is Kincaid, Shakir, Cook, Knox, Samuel, Coleman, and of course Josh Allen. Sure, we would all love to have someone flashy like Diggs in there too, but that is a lot of very capable players, each of whom represents a different threat. Don't need as much speed when you have Josh Allen running around buying you time, especially in the red zone. Makes much more sense to have a big, physical target with very capable hands! You can do a lot scheme wise with this roster to mess with red zone defenses, and that is with seven draft picks still left! We also could very well make a move for someone else too, Odell Beckham Jr for example.

The very high contested catch #'s tend to hint at inaccurate QB play, so playing with Josh should be a much better experience for this young up and comer. Honestly, I was hoping for Xavier Legette, but Keon Coleman definitely has major X potential, and I have no doubt that it will be fun to watch the highlights to come. Hopefully JA17 is right on this one (This picks on you Josh!) so Beane is off the hook if he's a dud. Which I doubt, highly. Anyone that skilled is guaranteed to make some waves, and this kid seems to have (at the very least), big-moment big-time catch ability, on steroids...

I mean maybe Worthy ends up a stud, but historically 40 times have never been an indicator of whether a receiver will succeed at a nfl level. I mean, it's just never been the case. It's the cherry on top, not the ice cream. John Ross held the record prior to worthy. He played in the league for 5 seasons before he was out of it, and his best season was around 500 receiving yards. And he was 20 pounds heavier with a beefier build compared to Worthy. Speed isn't everything, especially when you're 165 pounds soaking wet and get bullied at the line of scrimmage. It's going to be very interesting to see how he does when getting jammed by corners who have 20-40 pounds on him. The decision by the Buffalo Bills to trade with the Chiefs was a good one, no matter how you slice it... because they had no interest in Xavier Worthy. They weren't going to draft him. Because of the trade, they got back into the 3rd round. If they don't make the trade, they don't have any 3rd round pick and KC still gets Xavier Worthy because they'd likely trade with someone else behind us, or sit and pick him at #32 anyway. They traded with us because they were worried we would take him since everyone knew Buffalo was looking for a receiver. On most mock drafts for months leading up to the draft, Keon Coleman was ranked higher than Worthy. I still had him higher than worthy. Ladd would've been a nice option but I genuinely think he's better in the slot, despite the fact he plays a lot on the outside. And I feel like Shakir and Samuel will already fill that roll. The other two guys people wanted? AD Mitchell, Troy Franklin? AD Mitchell fell to the 50s, and Troy Franklin is still on the board going into day 3. There's clearly reasons for that. And I also find it a little rich that everyone is ranting and raving about Coleman's 40 time, while at the same time clamoring for the Bills to trade for Tee Higgins, despite the fact they ran nearly identical 40 times. Jerry Rice ran a 4.7. Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.6. It's about play speed. Not what you run in a t-shirt and shorts, with no contact to play through. So many people get tunnel vision with 40 times and it's a mistake when evaluating receivers.

Thanks Joe. They had all night to think about the pick and field offers to trade down. In my opinion, separation is everything when it comes to WR. He's not going to win many contested catches in the NFL. Trying to throw the ball to a guy that's rarely open results in interceptions and being asked to throw to the new expensive toy happened in the past with Kelvin Benjamin in their 1st year. Bills fans still hate Nathan Peterman as he listened to them and threw the ball his way. Tyrod Taylor refused and was benched. Kelvin was consistently getting beat to the catch point and I believe Coleman will be too. He doesn't seem to have the necessary agility. I don’t see him ever filling the void left from Stephon’s departure or living up to what we hoped for in Gabe.
