Kevyn Adams work as a General Manager begins on Tuesday Night. He did a good job trading for Eric Staal who we needed as a 2nd-Line Center. Now he needs to do good with the draft and not just the No.8 pick. We need to find guys in the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th and 5th-Rounds. Teams that win consistently draft guys in Rounds 2 through 7 that contribute in the NHL.

Mel is an absolute gem, hoping the Sabres gift her an elite forward, she deserves it. Drysdale will be gone before Sabres pick but 8th is right in the window that Sanderson may go. Hopefully the Sabres get Rossi or Holtz.

I hear you, and as a Devil's fan I empathize. Hhhowever, Sanderson is a great dman. I know they need wingers, but the option to ice Sanderson-Dahlin or splitting them like Jersey did with Stevens and Niedermayer, that's pretty incredible and gives Buffalo a massive strength to support whatever forwards and goalies over the next 15ish years. As a Devil's fan I worry about Holtz being Laine 2.0, or Raymond fizzing out, or Perfetti not being fast enough to be dynamic Sanderson could be a very good and safe pick. Just sayn! Can't wait to see how the cards fall tonight. Reallllly wish AZ landed Nj 9th or 10th overall.. Couldve been franchise altering having 7th and one of those. Freaking Preds and ex devils coach Hynes.

Having watched a lot of the OHL Drysdale will be tough to lay off if he is still around at 8th Mel. I think though if he falls to 8 they should be on the blower to trade down and grab some extra resources. Drysdale reminds me a bit of a young Paul Coffey and he is that ever elusive RH shooting D. We have a Nylander that would be ideal in a Sabre jersey but how bad would Buffalo want him. A straight Nylander and 8th for the Leafs 14th is a bit lopsided, the Leafs would be wise to package in a 2nd pairing D as well? But I totally get and agree on your take that Buffalo needs scoring seems pretty clear? Plus they already have a stud Defenseman in Dahlin.

I remember the Draisaitl draft and sitting at home thinking "man if any team picks this German kid then it should be Buffalo seeing as its the place where Erhoff made his name in the NHL as basically the only German player in the league" and then they passed on him and the rest is history. Sometimes its the simple things that you should follow which is why I see why Buffalo's past drafts have angered you. Best of luck this draft lol.

How do you think the Sens are going to get to the cap floor? With Bobby Ryan buyout, they need to spend $22M just to get to the floor. Either they will sign players for more than they are worth, trade for bad contracts, or very busy signing free agents.

IMO, Perfetti is a smaller version of Mittelstadt. If it comes down to picking Perfetti or Sanderson, I'd take Sanderson. Or trade down.

As much as we critique the past Sabre drafts the Oilers were really the ultimate for blowing high draft picks consistently. However it did land them McDavid and without him they are still a brutal team with a player or two of decent skill set.

As a Wings fan, I prefer Raymond at 4. I like Perfetti, but I think Raymond has a chance to be better than Stutzlë. We don’t really need Drysdale considering that we already have Hronek and Seider on the right side. I think that Holtz would fit really well on the Sabres with his scoring touch.

What's wrong with possibly choosing the goalie Askarov if he's available? Yes, the Sabres have Ukko Pekka Luukkonen, but you can never have enough quality goaltending. Personally, I think Askarov is better right now than Luukkonen ever will be. Thoughts?

Alexander Holtz would be perfect for Buffalo. I have him as a perennial 30 goal scorer in the NHL. Knowing the sabres though they’ll take either Connor Zary or Braden Schneider.

I understand how you feel when your GM screws up the draft, as a Bruins fan, 2015 will forever be the Sweeney total screw up draft, I wanted Barzal, Connor and Konechny 13,14 and 15th, but they pick Zboril, DeBrusk and Senyshen. Point is how can GM's and scouts who get paid very well not see what most fans can see? As for the goalie Askarov, he would be a great pick I think.

So hear me out here. As a fan of both the Sabres & Coyotes, I've been saying a deal between the two makes a lot of sense. What do you think of this? Kuemper Schmaltz Hinostroza Risto 8th Overall Okposo From the Sabres POV, we get a top 3 goalie in the league who can carry us when he's on and is the perfect bridge to UPL, two solid middle six forward options who can generate points and forecheck, AND we clear the Okposo contract. If I'm the Coyotes, I do it because we recoup that first round pick from the Hall deal (a higher one at that), get Risto to make us tougher to play against, better fits the timetable to compete and could put it together in Tocchet's system (which is defensively simple enough that even his dumbass can't screw it up haha). Thoughts?

I still cannot believe Botterill took Ryan Johnson with the 31st pick instead of Arthur Kaliyev last year... he practically fell into their lap. Holtz would be a much better pick than Lundell, who projects to be a 3C with 2C upside. Buffalo has a 1C in Eichel, and Staal for their immediate 2C, with Cozens as a potential 2C in the future. Holtz projects to be a top line winger, so he would definitely be the better player to take at #8.

I would not be surprised if Buffalo selected Seth Jarvis over Holtz which would be surprising but not necessarily a bad move. Holtz would be a very good pick but Jarvis is more versatile and would up the speed of the game.
