Great guide! I've been running Mangle over Lacerate this phase since it really helps with our warrior bleed damage and I've not had threat issues with it so far. Also, on my 2H I put an Iron Counterweight for +3% AS. So glad to see a feral tank putting out gnomer content. Keep it up!

I don't sadly. I thought about how people might want to see the clip, something I will get setup in the nearish future but I don't have availability today. I off tank the second to last boss and the final boss is mostly a run away when he starts casting his flamethrower in P1 and P4 situation. Hopefully this helps even if it isn't entirely what you were hoping for.

Ran my first bear tank run Tuesday. I main a prot pally so I wasnt worry about mechanics but nervous about being “spongy” however, thanks to this video it went well! The healers complimented me on holding threat on trash and bosses! Thank you for the video. Now I just need to find some better pre bis gear

Great video, I play feral, but dps kitty, I would have thought if you are using skull bash there would be no need to spec feral charge and use that extra point on 2% more armour or a more effective demoralizing roar?

I haven't used skull bash much, to your point it does have a 13yd "charge" attached to it. Feral charge is 25yds and I personally think it's worth investing 1 point, but these points are definitely flexible. The extra mobility gained can be worth so much and a small increment in armor seems less relevant to me. The times that 2% armor is going to save you from death in a real scenario is going to be extremely low and for that reason I like feral charge.

@nbd1aydc The easiest answer is that there is no substitution on leg rune that is any better so you basically have to take skull bash. It does have a use case in that feral charge you have to be at least 5 yards away to use and get the interrupt, which is not the case for skull bash. If it helps, I like to think of skull bash as an interrupt and feral charge as a movement ability. Obviously they both move you and interrupt but hopefully you get the point.

@@Downtohearthferal charge is essentially a range ability and skull bash can be used like a kick or pummel, I use a macro that attempts to cast both so it just uses the right one and makes both abilities feel much better

Great video a few things top remember -Demo roar does less AP reduction than Demo shout from a warr and the shout will override the roar -Maul if it crits does generate rage (not just from the talent) -since the 20th Mangle does much less threat than lacerate (lacerate's threat modifier was changed and not in patch notes) -Do not "open" with a swipe on single target for "snap" threat as you are self griefing due to it just takes longer for lacerate to stack

issue with ur change is we do not have the rage to actually gain any total TPS if all they do is move lacerate to legs so IMO the only real option to fix us is move SOTF to legs. @@00M6TA

Any tips on the last 2 bossses, how do you tank/taunt swap or run away from flame thrower on last boss. New to tanking and I know SM isn’t much but having a real fun and easy time in SM tanking but I know gnomer is way harder

I have a full gnomer guide (not for tank sadly) but consider watching that. Specifically for tanking though the boss puts a stacking flame debuff of you with a fire punch thing. We did our taunt swap at 4 stacks, make sure the off tank is IN FRONT OF THE BOSS before they taunt. This should occur before the flamethrower. Run when the boss starts his cast of the flamethrower from the middle of the room to one side of the door entrance. Taunt back when stacks fall off and repeat, this time running from one side of the door to the other (and a bit further) when he does the flamethrower.

For the last boss, I would just sprint away in cat for one of the flame thrower, otherwise it's a matter of timing.

If you are a cat doing OT for gnomer but with MT on menagerie do you think the cat talents are fine to take over the charge, armor and rage ren talent?

If you have decent gear you should be fine assuming you are tanking the chicken and the squirrel only. Just make sure you have your survival instincts and health pot macro nearby

It's called threat plates 😂. After you install it you can go into the addon by typing /tptp and select different settings to your liking. I don't believe I adjusted anything myself but it is very customizable

Really unfortunate, wish it would be moved but honestly it’s going to take over whatever rune slot it goes to. I guess legs wouldn’t be the end of the world

@@DowntohearthLegs would be perfect because it seperates the essential dps/tank runes that way, one is Savage Roar the other is Survival of the fittest, wild strikes is absolutely mandatory so adding SotF to legs would be amazing.

I’m not giving up the threat generated by lacerate for mangle. Also, lacerate will do a ton of additional damage compared to mangle on bosses so you most likely make up that damage anyway

wouldnt it be much better to use mangle on bosses instead of lacerate? so your berserking ability actually does have a use on boss fights plus the 30% dmg increase on bleeds will help your 3 warrior buddys alot.

Your would have to give up wild strikes. If your group has a difficult source of wild strikes I would say that is the only time to use it. But otherwise wildstrikes is basically just too good

Absolutely not im at 71 or 72 % reduction with it and survival rune. Healers love healing me. What's better then mitigating more damage as a bear? We only have dodge... we need and should have highest armor.

I solo tank my pugs (17-18yr bear tank) Those two points are better in cat combo points if you are OTing or just doing solo stuff. 2-4% armor especially at this level does nothing. More so because the only hard hitting stuff is mainly magic damage. Bears especially now with sotf are the tankiest of tanks now outside of locks with dodge up ( I hit up to 72%+ dodge on mine)
