I play an R12. At almost 78, I enjoy this horn. Recently played Kresmer style interjections for a Ashkenazi piece, and it was amazing! I've toyed with stepping up, and just may do it.

After 190 years, maybe Buffet should consider to solve the logo fading problem?

The fading of the logo doesn't affect the sound, besides, it been imprinted into the wood. With that said, every clarinet with a painted logo, in some way, has the logo fade away.

What's the point of changing logo if people cannot see it on the clarinets? Maybe the new selmer logo (big S) or yamaha high-end clarinet logo (engraving only) is a solution. I just want a great brand like Buffet to be perfect in every aspect.

+Zheng Li The logo is stamped into the wood, unless you have an E-12F or an E-11.

+Rhos 'Sevee Exactly, but in any case, after one year, the logos would nearly be gone, making they look like very low quality.

Zheng Li I'd have to disagree about that. As it ages, it becomes more beautiful, even if the logos wear off. The stain of the wood weakens, allowing us to actually see what the wood looks like underneath. My R-13 is just now going through that stage, and it is truly something beautiful. I feel you're looking for the "instant" beauty, what it looks like with all the make up on it. I think we all should look for the true beauty, what lies underneath all that makeup; the grain of the wood, the projection, the evenness of tone, the center of the sound, how compact or open the sound is, the resonance, etcetera. It is what's underneath that is the true beauty, the true quality.
