Beautiful guitar. Nice job. did you ground the bridge?
@WoodPortGuitars28 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes I did ground the bridge. I ran the ground wire up out of the lid under the bridge. I sanded the paint off the bottom of the bridge, maybe a 1 inch square. I also took a low E string, wound string, and ran it through the string paths, back and forth, to take the paint off where the string makes contact with the saddle pieces. I had to go through all of that because it was painted, or coated. The chrome bridges, no sanding necessary, but I don't know about the gold bridges, if they are conductive on the surface. Thanks for watching and commenting!! Cheers!!

What products did you use for the original finish?

The paint is Rustoleum Painters Touch 2X Ultracover Flat Black. The clear coat is the same, Rustoleum 2X Clear Lacquer Semi-Gloss. 3 - 4 coats of each paint and clear, with a light sanding with 320 grit sandpaper , between clear coats. I use this paint because I can get it at my local Ace Hardware, close to the shop. I am sure there are better paints, but I am happy with the results I get from the Rustoleum. Thanks D!
