@@transmatized In _All the Way_ and in the musical Willow hasn't only erased Tara's memory of Tara being angry at her, but she has had sex with her after she erases Tara's memory of the fight. Rape plain and simple. People criticize the bathroom scene, but Willow is worse, as she follows through, with a soul, and does so twice. Perhaps she does deserve sympathy and empathy, but her actions are very evil, even at this point. That is why addiction is so bad. In this episode Willow hasn't even acknowledged she is doing anything wrong and is destroying all her relationships. I do feel sympathy and empathy for Willow, but only starting at the end of _Wrecked_ and even then, I don't think Buffy was as cautious about how she treated Willow as she should have been. For one, by that point Willow should not be anywhere near Dawn, If this season was Willing to do a storyline about child services, then Willow should have moved out so Buffy wouldn't get a possible checkup from them and start having Willow's actions affect that as well. Can you imagine the reaction they would have if they learned an addict broke Dawn's arm and Buffy was allowing her to live there? And for another, Willow's whole goal of getting magically clean should not be about hoping Tara will come back to her if she does. Also as you said not agreeing with someone is fine, but there isn't any reason for the name-calling or swear words against myself, Anton Brakhage or anyone else.

It can be read generously, but I'm in the camp that thinks it's the more selfish variety. Compare that scene to the later episode with the Trio wanting to make "willing sex slaves" Andrew and Jonathan convince themselves that it's all fine & the girls will be willing, but when Katrina tells them off, they're immediately defensive and disgusted. Their actions are vile & they are shown exactly this reality. The scene with Willow is played for laughs and any moral quandary she has must be inferred. As for Conor & Cordy, he's a teenager and she is manipulating him. This is stated explicitly by the show. The fact she was being controlled at the time does not change this. To even come CLOSE to comparing that to an assault ON Cordy is.... monstrous. In that scenario, they were both victims.

Soul = true person and has the ability to go to heaven/afterlife No Soul = DEMON in control , there is no more person just the memories Picture CHAT GPT being given a soul. Chat GPT can access human memory information but it cannot KNOW that it is doing it, it can pretend to know and speak like it knows but it will never be awake but the programmers could never tell, so it goes with spike, We find it hard to seperate human and demon because of how he acts like William BUT ... william is gone. I don't get the problem with the skirt... you can easily raise the hem of a skirt to have sex on the spot (even long skirts.. takes about 1-2 seconds), you know. It's quite practical in that situation, actually (lmao).
@bloodyawfulpoetry57196 жыл бұрын
Not when they're made of leather! Any tight ankle length skirt I've ever worn (even with a slit as someone else suggested) takes quite a lot of unladylike wriggling and hitching to get it up. If the skirt was made of something like leather then you could double that time (at least!). Realistically if she didn't want to kill the mood by fighting it up her legs then she should just take it off and let it drop down. But as we see when they fall through the floor and she lands on top of him - it's still covering her completely. They don't even pay lip service to the fact that she hitched it up during a moment we didn't see (because there is nothing sexy about forcing a tight ankle length skirt above your knees and then up to your hips). She's still wearing the skirt the same as she would if she were walking down the street in it (also incredibly difficult in a tight ankle length skirt - and then there is the attempts to climb stairs...) Realistically Spike has absolutely no access to her genitals in this scene. I've never enjoyed this scene because the mechanics are so impossible it throws me out of the world. So clearly written and directed by men who have never worn a long skirt in their lives. A loose flowy skirt is ideal for a fully clothed quickie. But this skirt ... she might as well be wearing a pair of iron knickers.
@Malaika-wa6 жыл бұрын
Doesn't look that tight of a skirt, during the fight if you slow the speed of the video you can see it spreads out under her butt and there's indeed a slit. So he took her up in his arms, and could raise the skirt towards the top of her thighs quite quickly to do the "dirty" :p
@bloodyawfulpoetry57196 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what skirt you're looking at - but that looks a very tight and constricting skirt. Both her legs are entirely encased in material which is touching her skin. I'm old enough to remember when they were fashionable - and wore them plenty - even with high splits they were tight and difficult to move in. In order for her to - ahem - get her legs open, that split would have to be front and back and go up to almost the waist band. A split from the back that came up to just under her butt would require *a lot* of moving the skirt out of the way to get access. It would result in a lot of excess material around the front that just isn't there in the shot. It would be undignified, time consuming, not in the least bit sexy - but completely necessary in such a skirt. And he hasn't even moved it out of the way anyway - her butt is still fully covered when they fall through the floor and she is on top of him.
@TufShadow6 жыл бұрын
@@bloodyawfulpoetry5719 She has a superstrength. Maybe she ripped it at the front or something? Superstrength can olso helps her to lift up her skirt, even if it is from leather.
@bloodyawfulpoetry57196 жыл бұрын
@@TufShadow But she doesn't rip it! we see the whole encounter and at no point does she take hold of her skirt and tear it apart. Plus it is still intact the next day when she wears it home. There's no point in iffing and butting about what isn't on the screen - we see them go from kissing to riding each other, no interruptions. She *could* have ripped it. She *could* have taken it off. She didn't - she left it exactly in place. I can understand why the writers/.directors who never wore a skirt like that in their lives might not realise why what they were filming was so ridiculous, but nevertheless - ridiculous it was. It isn't the myriad of possibilities of what she could have done, or what might have happened, that throw me out of the reality of the show - it is the fact that what they show us (and therefore canonically what happened - no ifs and buts) is completely, logistically impossible. And super strength wouldn't help her lift it. The heaviness isn't the problem, it is the tightness and clinginess. Without simply pulling it off (which she has the strength to do but she clearly doesn't do) she would *have* to wriggle it up. That is just physical reality. Her knees and hips are no less obstructive because she is the slayer - nor does the material have any more give in it. And all the super strength in the world isn't going to get rid of the excess material that bunching it up would create. She doesn't pull it up (we clearly see she has no time to do this), she doesn't tear it (we clearly see she has no time to do this), we see it firmly in place in the closing shot and intact in the next episode. And when all those facts are taken on board ... sex becomes impossible. Hence why it throws me out of the world. If they'd just put her in a more floaty skirt the scene would have been fine. But that particular skirt - with no indication that she does rip it, lift it or take it off ... it can't happen. And it's too 'real' (as in - something I have real world experience of myself) to allow suspension of disbelief for me. It just ruins the scene.

The Tara and Dawn scene is like the divorcing parent trying to assure the child that the parents didn't breakup because the them and still love their child (which is a common with a child divorcing parents feel. Remember Buffy in "Nightmares"). Dawn accepts and eases Tara's parental fears. Chances are she had to go through this aleeady with (not to mention with all she's been through the past year alone, Willow/Tara isn't as traumatic). There aren't cheese cookies, but there are cheesecake cookies. :) "You came back wrong." Regardless of why Spike can hit Buffy now, this is how Buffy feels. She's been struggling to get back into the swing of things - going through the motions - and mostly succeeding in pretending to her friends that she's managing. But she's not. She was in heaven, and now she's not, and it's not something you just bounce back from. She doesn't feel like herself, she's depressed and every day is a struggle. The fact she chooses someone she despises to make out with tells you a lot about her mental state right now. :( Spike was talking himself up: Performance anxiety, probably. Almost like it's been so long he wasn't sure he could remember how to do it. :D Amy's back and not being a good influence. I think her comment about staying home alone like in high school was hitting closer to Willow's time before Buffy, or more just how she perceived herself growing up. As Anya said, Willow was always the responsible one - old reliable - and she's always been self-conscious about that. It distorts the way she remember things. Amy struck a nerve that she knew was there to get Willow to go out. And yes, what she does to Bree was pretty gross, regardless of what Bree's sexual orientation was. (We know she was at the Bronze with a woman, but she could be bi or pan for all we know.) Amy basically gave her magic roofies. And that's just the tip of the nopeberg. I love Tara taking time to hang out with Dawn, proving that just because she and Willow split up and she moved out, she's still cares about Dawn.

You know the sex scene was censored at 22:20? Some times ago you could find it whole on youtube, I don't know if it's still there. It was censored because parents complained that it was too much for the kids (even if they were still completely dressed up, no nude). There was Buffy riding Spike and moaning.XD

Thay skirt has a slit. Backstory on how K realized that. I watched this show from the beginning (I was a fan a the movie as a chikd and watched the show becaise I hsd 2 older sisters so Inwas young among injtial.airing).I was 11 when this happened. I didn't think much about it. I just assumed it was excessive dry humping. Fast toward to years later that I'm confused to what's going on. because I don't realize that Buffy is wearing a long skirt. I'm thinking she's wearing pants as usual. One time some years ago, I'm watching this episode again, I hear the fucking zipper! I 'm still confused until analyzer that she's wearing a skirt with a FULL slit!Then rewatch again and realize that she wearing a skirt with later then I was confused. Again, I was thinking aggressive set humping. It wasn't til I finally heard the zipper that it smack me what really happemed lol...

A collectible item doesn't have to be in-box or on-card to be graded as "mint condition". That's why you have terms for "mint-on-card" or "mint-in-box" as separate grades. Yes, an item is less likely to be graded mint if its open, because its more likely to suffer damage or wear, but opened items can and have indeed been rated as mint.

1. Seeing Amy back was great for like a sec until we were remembered she was a very naughty witch lol. 2. We finally got Spike and Buffy together. It's disturbingly hot but I like him better than Angel. 3. Why is Spike able to hurt Buffy without the chip going off? Could it be that it's because she was a being who was once in heaven? Or is it because he truly loves her and can't actually hurt her because deep down he doesn't want to hurt her? I mean he did say to her at 20:53 that he wasn't planning on hurting that much. I don't know. After all of these years, I'm still not certain as to why he's able to hit her. - Yvette

The skirt? It's no where near as tight as the skirt Buffy was wearing in Flooded, and it has a long slit in it. The final scene of the 2 of them after falling through the floor into the basement was much racier. There used to be a KZbin video of it with sound, but it is no longer up. People are casually and brutally murdered in this series, and that's totally okay. But the scene at the Bronze when Amy compelled a girl to approach Willow, is WRONG beyond anything ever in history. Alrightee then...LMAO

Goodness me, it's fantastic Shan picks up on just how bad some things are. Amy "mind controlling" ("date rape drugging" is my "real life" analogue) a stranger on behalf of Willow is not different to what the Trio does in a later episode, but the two actions are treated with EXTREMELY different weights (obviously the latter is objectively worse, even without the extreme consequences. But there's not a magnitude of difference between them. Willow doesn't even appear disgusted with the act, only uncomfortable with her own situation. Jonathan and Andrew both seek to justify it in their own minds by declaring their victims "made willing" and are immediately horrified when the reality is shown to them. I've always really appreciated the underlying themes of consent & how things can be complicated. How clear communication cuts through a lot of misunderstanding. Taking it to extreme allegory for the show, but still these ideas are important and oft-neglected. I might have hated the "teach men not to rape" campaigns of a few years ago for being extremely sexist, but the idea of teaching about consent and how misunderstandings CAN happen remains essential. No means no, but sometimes a yes can't be taken at face value due to circumstances, especially when mental capacity is affected, like with excessive alcohol) First time I've seen a reactor pick up on it so strongly. Fantastic.

If you rewatch this episode through Buffy's perspective, you can see that she's reacting to the subject of Willow as if they're talking about her and her temptation with Spike. That's why she's so dismissive and defensive.

Actually putting the pushy guys up on the balcony dancing half naked was the fall back position. The writers were going to have them magically forced to make out but joss objected to forcing gayness on them. As for the girl offered to willow, you later see her sitting down getting reasonably chummy with another girl. At least enough so you might suspect she’s gay.
@lechugaquemada992 жыл бұрын
I don't don't want to make a negative comment but I really want to point something out, I believe that what Amy did to the girl at the club was similar as if someone put a drug into your drink just to hook up with you, so that's rape cuz that girl wasn't consciously agreeing to do that and that's really fucked up. So that's why I disagree with you Shan when you said it is worst if that girl doesn't have Willow's same sexual orientation. Being raped is just fucked up and it doesn't matter the gender who did that. It's not like you're gonna say: oh at least I wasn't raped by a girl. Don't get me wrong, I love your reactions and it's been really cool to watch the series with you but that's something I wanted to call out, even though I know that you didn't really mean it that way.
