It's also hard to know that Sarah Michelle Gellar is now also known as a "voice actor" who has not only voiced animated films but also voiced multiple video game roles. Yet she would not take the time to do the voice for Buffy in either of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer games that were released. Buffy is the role that defined her entire career and she should have taken the time to read the lines like the rest of the cast did. But good job on the alternate actress they used, they made the best of a bad situation and that woman came through where Sarah failed to show up.

@@Emissary355 If you search hard enough in other video's comments about this game, you'll come across a comment by Tony Barnes who was the lead designer on this game, and he specifically stated that Sarah was too busy filming Scooby-Doo for her to fill this specifi project. Much like Alyson Hannigan was too busy working on American Wedding to voice over Willow for Chaos Bleeds. But you're right: They made the best of a bad situation (on this game anyways) and the alternate actress did an almost spot-on impersonation. More often than not actually.

If that is the case the video game companies should have delayed the release for a couple of months until the actresses were available. I mean how long can it take to have them come in and read lines off of a script? A couple of days? The delay would have been worth it to have the real actresses voicing their characters. I know if I was purchasing the game I would have preferred waiting a little longer rather than getting it quicker but with alternate actresses used for two of the main characters. You can't fault Sarah Michelle Gellar or Alyson Hannigan for being busy filming movies, so I think this is definitely on the video game company for being too strict with their release schedule instead of taking a minor delay. Ultimately the fans are the ones that suffer and that isn't right, but again the alternate Buffy actress did a great job in this game, congratulations to her. Thanks for clearing up that mystery of why alternate actresses were needed.

And I've already made peace with the fact that not everyone was on board (for whatever the reason) to voice their prospective character's roles. As a fan, you're absolutely right, and especially with these franchises that almost have become their own living entities, to become separate from Joss, the writers , the actors, as It's own living, breathing universe, you expect to go into the games and have everyone sound exactly like they did in the shows. But like I said, I've already accepted that 20 years later as I dust off my old Xbox games and I'm finally able to enjoy Chaos Bleeds for what it is: A damn well excellent game despite Willow and Anya sounding nothing like their TV counterpart. Not as good as the original, sure, but an excellent Buffy game nonetheless. :)

If she couldn't do the first game because she was filming Scooby-Doo then I wonder what the problem was for not being able to do the voice for Chaos Bleeds next. If she was working on yet another movie and this made it so she couldn't be available to read voice lines in the second game then again, that's really bad luck. Both games not having Sarah voicing Buffy is really unacceptable. So again I blame this on the video game company for not scheduling things better to fit Sarah in when they know her movie career would take top priority. I mean she's only the MOST important character and voice in the game, but who cares about that right? Seems like that was the attitude of the game company. These games might be 20 years old now but it still ticks me off to no end! It was absolutely terrible scheduling to not accommodate Sarah in order to get her voice in both games. They absolutely should have made the time for Sarah to come in and if that caused some delays for releasing the games then so be it! Because it would have been worth it!

If they can reboot the comic books surely one of these big gaming companies could make a great game for modern consoles (Current or Next Gen) Heck, I'd like to see Lego Buffy. I'd like to see a real one with great graphics also. I can't be alone in being ready to throw my money at such ideas.

Oh my God yes! Just imagine an open world (Well, mission oriented at the very least) and Character Customization, it would totally be possible since all Slayers share the same powers, so being worried about making a list of different powers wouldn't be a problem, maybe if they wanted to add more classes like Witch/Warlock or Vampires I guess, but a character customization and a story that sets you as one of the new Slayers activated would totally be worth it.

I have found the best way to take out those blue sea demons is to use the triple kick then blast them with a Hellfire arrow that way they won't smack you around and cut down your health. I've played this game so many times I've learned lots of little tricks and helpful battle maneuvers.

There were reasons for this. Namely graphics. While Chaos Bleeds made some improvements on framerate amd character polygon counts, the texturing, lighting and facial animations of the original were not only superior to the sequel, but only really possible for Xbox at the time (this was still technically a year one Xbox game). The fact that a lot of concessions were made to get Chaos Bleeds across all platforms meant not just graphical downgrades but gameplay ones as well. Don't get me wrong CB is still a great game and even managed to make a few improvements over the original, but almost everything is better in the original game.

This looks like a really great game. It would have been even better if Sarah Michelle Gellar had voiced Buffy and Mark Metcalf had voiced The Master. It's just not the same without them. The plot looks really cool too, I think it would have made a great multi-part episode in the series.

@@varsedo The substitute voice actress they used for Buffy did a very good job on this game, I am not saying I didn't like her performance, they could have done a lot worse, but she is not preferred. Definitely not the replacement voice for The Master since it sounded nothing like the character from the show. Anyone who played this game would rather have Sarah Michelle Gellar voicing Buffy and Mark Metcalf voicing The Master. Not replacement voice actors that were not on the show, that's just a fact. And not just for this game but for any game using voice actors from any show. If you took a vote I doubt you would find a single Buffy fan who would say that they 'prefer' these replacement voices over the real actors who voiced the characters on the show. It's simply crazy to think that. They did the best they could on this game since for whatever reasons they couldn't get Sarah or Mark to voice their characters, but nobody would ever choose a generic replacement over the name brand genuine article.

If they remake it, it would only be right to continue to give credit to the voice actress who held it down. I can guarantee that almost everyone who has enjoyed the game has had the voice lines grow on them. If they remastered the game and removed those voice lines, it would take from the game.

The sad part? The second one is most people are aware of and have actually played? The thing we really shouldn't be mentioning is whoever they got to voice Willow and James Martsers voiced in performance... That being said it isn't really an awful game to be fair. I haven't played these games in over 15 years, and for some reason i have an urge to play Chaos Bleeds. But the deep combat, ambiance, story and overall Buffiness authenticity is far superior here in the first game. I'll probably try to get a cheap working Xbox on ebay, because the 360 has weird compatibility issues on both games.

It's compatible on the Xbox 360. You can track down a used copy of the game for relatively cheap $20-$30 on eBay (at time of this comment). Unless you're going for a brand new sealed copy, those can can go for over $100. Chaos Bleeds, the sequel included. What's more is these games have aged extremely well. Remember this is OG Xbox/PS2/GameCube era, so these graphics are nothing to scoff at for the time. Gameplay and combat might not be as complex as DMC games, but staking enemies is extremely satisfying to this day.

Are you playing with cheats? Im at the Docks, Crane level so about 5h in on this video. Ive completed this game many times in the past but not on Hard. By the time i get to the stage with the 3 water demons, i have no cross-bolts or hellfire. Also, ive never have 5 elixers at once!!! It looks like you're playing on easy mode man, you dont even use the Reaper... :o

While I love this video and have watched it many times, I have to say I'm very disappointed that you didn't encode this video properly in it's original 4:3 aspect ratio. Instead you chose to (either purposely or by mistake) make it 16:9 by burning the black bars on the sides into the video. Now when you watch this video on the older 4:3 televisions that the game was designed to be played on it looks terrible. Instead of filling the screen completely as it should you get a small square in the middle of the screen with black bars on the top, bottom, left and right! This is a very common error that many people have made and continue to make all the time on youtube and other sites when creating and uploading 4:3 content. This should never happen if common sense was used and people actually knew what they were doing. It would be nice if you could fix this and upload the video again to replace this version, but it's probably too much trouble at this point. In any case this is a great game and video so thanks for your efforts!
