It's been a while since I saw it but I think Angel showed up to help with the fight but Buffy never saw him before he left again and no one was going to mention it but then someone (Spike maybe?) let it slip over dinner so they all look towards Buffy because she's going to freak out about it but then the episode ends on that shot.
