Contents of my bug out bag for surviving disaster in the UK.
I keep it in an M12 tactical bag. I would not take all of this equipment in every situation, only what would be needed and appropriate depending what the emergency is.
I have a mummy style sleeping bag and small air matress. I have a SIGG bottle, 44 and 58 pattern water bottles with 44 steel mug, telescopic baton, sling shot, sharpening stone, larger and small folding saws, one to keep in the bag and one in my pocket. Bivvy bag, foil survival blanket, small guide books for info and to kill bordom, walkies, first aid kit... See More, soap bag, sewing kit, crank powered radio/torch, hunting/gutting knife and woodcraft knife, magnesium block, flint striker, whistle, headlamp, binoculars, waterproofs (behind the S10 gas mask) 550 paracord, compass, leatherman, personal alarm, zippo, a mouse trap, fold away cutlery and a small cooking pot. In the possibles pouch I have matches in a waterproof pot made out of an old shot gun cartridge, carabina clips, water purification tablets (also have them in the first aid kit and my water bottle pouch) and other odds and ends that might be usefull. I also have packs of tuna.

I'm impressed! I have started prepping for any potential disaster. I have opted to prepare to stay home rather than flee. As of now I have gathered enough things for my girlfriend and our daughter to stay put for three months or so. I have a few hundred lbs worth of canned food and miscellaneous things. Good luck everyone!

Excellent kit. I'm in Canada. The main reason why I clicked on your video is because there were no guns I am fed up of looking at American bug out bags where the first thing they want to show you are all their guns and ammunition. I'm a cyclist like you and I was thinking of getting some bags for my bike. Only thing I can think that you might add to your kit is a very thin backpack that you can take all your stuff out of your bicycle bags and put it in. Ignore all the negative comments. I like your Muelay military knife, almost bought one but settled for another one of theirs. Might still buy it one day

My suggestion better replacement / supplementary for your tuna, trail mix - 1 tuna calories 184 per 100g v trail mix 462 per 100g. 2 less bulk . 3 can snack on the move. 4 healthy more fiber / carbs better for hiking ( tuna NO fiber) . 4 no cooking needed .5 tastes great. 6 long shelf life (not so long as tuna) 7 can make your own mix . 8 low cost . 9 well tried & tested over 100 years in hiking community . Other good choice beans , rice, oats. Hope my suggestion is of some use. Thanks for video .

Do the other foil packets of meats, NOT all tuna. Too many toxins in tuna, heavy metals. Do packets of spam, potted meat, vienna sausages, packets of pulled pork, packets of chicken, canned ham, canned beef. LOTS of different options than ALL tuna... Look into ultralight gear too, some great ideas there. Try and find gear that doubles or triples up. Like whistles with ferro rods. etc. The disaster book can be in the home emergency kit, take the other two in your BOB. Have a module of INCH stuff, so you can just grab it and go with your BOB. Keep some seeds in your INCH module too. Great vid dude!

Food vegetation book is very very good idea. I would minimize a bunch of that crap like the numerous amount of pocket knives. The door alarm is probably something to just leave behind lol. The more stuff you carry, the more you tire yourself out carrying them. Oh... I would strongly recommend adding a tarp to your collection. If it rains you can build a shelter for you and a fire if you made one.

The rat trap is an awesome idea. Add some duct tape, a map of the city maybe and some peanut butter!!! Or those dried beans, not sure about the shelf life but I'm sure its long, even if it's not as long as cans its not like you won't eat the stuff right away. Maybe a small solar powering kit.

As a must for a BOB Might I Recommend a Gerber Concertine wire cutter , I just today received mine and tested it on a few possible obstacles and was amazed at how easy it cut even the thickest chain link fence, also with a bit more effort the steel rod type fencing around inner city train tracks, great to have if you can't go under, over, or around , just go through

The best food to stack is RAISINS and RAW CASHEWS. The raisins provide all the sugars you need, and the cashews provide all the calories and proteins you need. Its a snack that really fills you up. It can serve as breakfast, lunch and diner for as much time as you have some. Then you can stack dry cereals in plastic bottles, like oats, brown rice, beans, lentils.. etc. Here's my advice concerning the food..

Ditch the water and take 2 empty bottles, add a sawyer squeeze water filtration system. ounces lead to pounds and pounds lead to pain. try to eliminate redundancy in the bag and be confident that the gear will hold up. Need to see the pack this all goes in because if it has the ability to add a hydro bladder its well worth it. All in all some really good ideas in the bag.

i live in florida and we have hurricane season. things we always have when the world 'stops'/ hurricane knocks out the city/power is booze, water, a handcrank radio, weapons. Radios are essential. all jokes aside when u see zombie movies everyone listens to the radio. It's totally true! Humans need human contact, even if it's just a radio voice. Plus they broadcast supply locations during a state of emergency. One thing peppers never seem to have is a tourniquet!!!! It's a must

Thanks for the run down on your kit. If I did reside in the U.K. or anywhere in Europe, I would make it a very important point to always know where firearms are kept in your location. Whether it be a shop, police substation, military type supply building, home owners that own antique firearms, history museum that displays old military weapons, etc. Those place might become part of you and your family or community actually surviving a full on WROL. i know it sounds bad, but this could save your life in a catastrophic situation. Cheers

Or you could just, you know, far out thinking , obtain legal firearms of your own. It's not that difficult as long as you are not a convicted criminal and drooling moron. Scratch that, you don't qualify.
@skyym3629
@skyym3629 8 жыл бұрын
claverhouse1 ..... Ya, like this chap that is showing his complete bug out / survival kit just in case the shtf. Why are you calling him a drooling moron or a felon because he has no firearms. Maybe he chooses not to have them OR the Country he lives in "European Union" does not allow law abiding citizens to have firearms for protection and self defense. Maybe you don't have any firearms. I don't think you own any firearms, unless it is a single shot, 3 foot long, 22lr rifle or maybe it's a black powder rifle. You might get lucky and be able to get it out of its locked safe and unlock the trigger lock and then go to your other safe that has the ammo and then unlock it and then load it and then you are ready to protect your children and wife. After you do use it to protect your family, you get to go to prison for years and years and when the burglar that you shot gets out in 12 months, he can sue your family and take everything you have ever worked for and leave you family in the streets while "big bubba" makes sure you don't get lonesome for any loving. I live in the U.S. and don't have to worry about my "Queen" or her "Royal family" telling me I can't protect myself or my family or my propert, while they are protected by the most modern automatic firearms in the world. My Glock 19 and AR15 are fitted with everything I need, (at arms reach) to find my way around my home at night, just in case some idiot thinks he is in Europe and can come into my home unannounced and uninvited. Hey, at least you have your airsoft toys that mimic the real firearms. You even type like a yankee wanker, You should change your name to (openhouse1), cuz there aint a damn thing you can do if someone wants to come into your home and have there way with you and yours, unless you want to spend the rest of your life in prison, lol. To think, you thought you were gonna post a snide little pissy ass comment and prove through your words, you were more superior than whoever made that crazy gun comment. You have been watching to much of your famous Countryman, Peirce. We kicked his yankee arse all the way back to his native land, your native land. lolololol No wonder our farmers spanked your military trained battalions back to Europe. I can see how that was more than possible.
@claverhouse1

Do you need a towel? You must be absolutely drenched from all that drool. UK law allows us to own firearms other than pistols or semi-automatic weapons. Other than that you can have what you want. The Queen and Royal Family ( those are the correct terms so you don't need parenthesis) have no say in what laws are enacted by our governments so your bizarre fetish there is not really relevant, is it? Is there really someone called Peirce, somewhere or is he just another of the voices in your head? Means nothing to me mate. And "your farmers" didn't exist. They were OUR farmers. They were Brits, because the American Revolutionary War was a British civil war. That's right, it took Brits to beat Brits. Unfortunately they then became Americans and lost wars to farmers in Korea, and Vietnam, and Afghanistan ...
@skyym3629
@skyym3629 8 жыл бұрын
claverhouse1 Actually, the "farmers" were my kin folk. Your Queen I'm sure is very disappointed in you. That's okay because you just recently had a "Prince" that was born so he can make sure your little ones are brought up correctly. Sure, you are allowed firearms, other than semi-auto and hand guns, lol. You just have to give them I.D. take a couple classes to make sure you don't blow your balls off, lol. Give a stool sample and all the peoples names that reside in your apt. complex so they can do background checks on them to, lol. Then you have to purchase a state certified locking device and a safe. You can't keep the ammo in the same city as where the gun resides, cuz those bad guns will track down that ammo and possibly blow your balls off when you come home late one night, lol. If by chance you can assemble the single shot gun and find the ammo and get past all the locks and actually save your life and/or your families lives, you my friend will never see the light of day again. So I am not to sure why you must argue a null and void point and make it out to be that we love that you and your countrymen are treated like kindergarten school children. It actually makes me feel bad to see human beings treated like they have no common sense or inelegance at all. Why don't y'all sit down for some 'tea and crumpets" and talk things out instead of getting your knickers in a twist and letting "FEAR" run you and your countrymen lives. The only reason I need a towel, is because I am laughing my arse off and my eyes are running, lol. Cheerio good Sir.

"Apartment complex"? What the fuck is that? My nearest neighbour is miles away. We all drive 4x4s just to get to the nearest town here, and guns are in just about every house in my glen. You , however, live in a country where citizens have to kowtow to the slightest random demands of anyone with a badge ( and I mean ANYONE , high school dropouts who don't speak English are handed a $5 uniform, a $1 badge and a $500 gun and let loose as security guards ), and are either tazed into a smoking puddle or shot 25 times for the slightest hesitaton in immediate slavelike obedience. And if the cops don't kill you, your friends , family and neighbours will because anyone not actually incarcerated is allowed to buy as many deadly weapons as they can afford and carry and you are all so immature, socially backward and generally batshit crazy that you think shooting someone in the face is the correct response to a stranger asking for directions. We don't need to wonder when the zombie apocalypse will start because it already has, inside your borders. Now, off you fuck.

One suggestion I would make is for the med kit I would add a stitch kit and a lot of disinfectants. As many as you can carry. I know no one ever wants or expects to fall and tear themselves up or to be shot or stabbed or whatever, but one has to be prepared for anything in a bug out situation. Just a suggestion.

Here in the states you can buy bags of tuna. they contain 8oz. of tuna with minimal water. The bags are plasticised foil of some kind and are lighter that the cans. The bags also stack fairly flat and a stack of 5 is about 4 inches high. I buy them at a regular market and not a survival/outfitter.

Fabulous bag - i have instant oats and ramen - takes up less space and will fill tummy. With the walki talki my argument would be the whole battery issue -none of our items we have are reliant on batteries - probably me just worries i'm going to forget to get new batteries and when it kicks off the batteries will be flat - i bought small compact grill (sausage grill) at poundland - got 2 for £1 and its small enough to use for just about every bbq situation

Plus as bandages etc. Swap mouse trap of prepared wire snares and fishing gear. See your SAS book for snares. Swap the sharpening stone for a steel - get them cheap at Wilkos. You don't have any spare socks or gloves. Get some Marigolds, they are water and wind proof and can be used to carry water should you need to. If they are a size or 2 too big you could wear woolen gloves beneath them. All the best mate.

Hey if you don't have access to MRE's I'd also suggest Jerky. MREs are nice if you have a stable water supply, Jerky can sometimes be expensive, If you don't like the amount you get for the money you spend, dry your own in your oven at home, Freeze it and it's always ready to be thrown in the bag.

If you can't afford to stock up like this yet or you're just starting out, the essential items are: 1. Good knife (Mora knives are quality, under $20 US- best deal on the planet!) 2. Fire making material (magnesium block with flint, lighters, etc.) 3. Water purification tablets 4. Canteen etc., at least a liter minimum 5. Mess kit (aluminum to boil water) 5. Plastic sheeting (shelter, rain catch, solar still) 6. Paracord 7. Basic first aid kit Anything else you take should have multiple uses.

"Only thing missing at the moment is food ...". Fair enough but one might suggest some basic changing clothes, especially dry socks which anybody who has been in the army and out in the woods knows can come in very handy. And a proper, solid poncho that can keep you dry and be turned into a shelter, used for camouflage, making raft boat, stretcher etc. Only use army gear that had been field tested. Bring a LifeStraw for cleaning water and cooking set for boiling. It will be either too much or

you could replace the tuna with some dried meat and soy. sports drink powder is also good for tasking jobs at hand. stock cubes are good too if you know what you can get from nature. always have some salt, sugar and vitamin tabs. no reason to carry aluminium. camping cooking gear is great, but army stuff is usually thought out better in usefulness for carry pound.

Great start to your kit, a true preparedness plan never is completly finished though. It's always a work in progress... Continually tweaking and revisiting the contents. A lot of these sites mention bugging out but if you haven't chosen a spot with an alternative backup location then staying home really is your only choice. Just blindly heading out would be suicide in my opinion.

Another great basic item to have is high-quality Ziploc or other name brand plastic bags, not only can they help waterproof your gear/clothing (while not wasting space!) but they can also help compartmentalize your gear, and be used for water storage and solar water pasteurization as well. Again, multiple-use items are the best! If it does just one thing, it better be awesome at it or it's probably not worth the weight or space!

a funny thing that people rarely consider is, even if you happen to bug out with a heavy pack containing things you don't really need - you can always just discard anything you are sure you don't need. As for shelter, you can find good videos on here about making shelter out of a tarp and cordage. if you don't have one - definitely get a survival blanket (the shiny reflective deals)... a thought - 3-5' length of surgical tubing - multiple uses there. a small fishing kit maybe. some ideas :)

Keep sleeping bag, add in ground mat and tarp or poncho!!! Dont go anywhere without them! You can improvise on lots (ground mat and poncho) but if you have a bad nights sleep it can effect your daytime very quickly. I got a Summer sleeping bag 800 g and a Winter sleeping bag closer to 2 kg. I'd rather bug out with the Winter sleeping bag. Sleep is important.

Instead of canned tuna, most stores carry little tin like packets. Much lighter in weight and thin so that could solve the size issue of the cans. I also went with a mono-culer. A single binocular. Two small plastic bags for your feet too. Could be good in snow or heavy rain.

Agree with Will to Survive. 0k if help is near you can pull the string, but would prefer smoke or flare. Personal alarms are made to attract help and by that scare attackers away. But if the chance of anybody nearby willing to help you then the only thing you will achieve is revealing your hideaway to any other potential threat for miles away. Bring a small bell to put on a piece of string, that will alarm you, but not others. You can also do as in the army, take two old glass bottles you may f

I got it from an army surplus store back in 2002. The law has changed since then so they are now alot harder to get hold of. Shops are not allowed to sell them now.

For food, you can buy energy bars. Forge survival supply sells a box of 6x400 calorie energy bars that have 5 year shelf lives for a decent price. Also, you can get freeze-dryed meals, like ones you boil in a bag.

The mouse/rat traps are a good idea, I need to add some to my bug out pack. They're great for protecting your existing food supply and when your food supply runs out you can eat the rats you catch!

Just found your channel and had to subscribe, looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks for sharing the contents of your bug out bag , some good ideas there, in particular thought the little collins gem books a good idea, as when the SHTF , it’s surprising what you suddenly can’t remember. Regards the firearms, I’ve often wondered if potentially a air rifle ( one that looks like the real deal) will act as a deterrent in a SHTF situation and will also double up for hunting small game ( worth checking out the uk laws on those) 👍🏻

I like how you improvised for not being able to include a gun by having a baton and sling. As a suggestion you should add more food and medical supplies because that's most important.

strawling through your videos - very cool. I didn't know you were into prepping as well. I made a few videos on that topic myself some years ago. Bug Out Bag, INCH bag, huge medical set, and so on. I stopped prepping cuz I felt it kept me locked in fear and negative thinking. However, if you wanna go offgrid much of it can still coem in handy. You have most thigs covered. Maybe an extra axe, and a lifestraw wouldn;t be too much of a luxury... or check my videos if you want to see what I have in these kits. Look forward to the next videos!! Thanks mate!

Aluminium foil. You can shape it into a container to cook or hold liquid. Can be used as a Faraday's cage to shield ur electronic equipment from any possible EMF waves that will fry the circuitries.

Organization is the key sir, one good fixed blade, a smaller back up folder and a multitool if you really need it, and MREs are great to keep in your bag instead of bulky cans of tuna, but overall it's a good set up, just needs to be leaner and better organized.

Very interesting and informative you'll be well organised when it all kicks off. One thing you forgot to pack was the 3 little teddy bears top right in the video!! just having a laugh so no nasty come backs!! Take a look at my tilley lamp vids, they're great for a more permanent set up. Cheers.
