Loved your restoration. I drove a '59 Bug-eye for years to & from college & all around. great little car. Had I known I would have kept it till now & restored it..but young & dum as it goes..I dropped in a 1275 MGB engine to replace the old - slow AH 948- What a difference..it did time trials at Englishtown NJ & did very well against cameros & vets. back in the late 70's.. Loved, Loved that happy little car..when I needed parts I bought a running rusty '61 Bugeye from the back of a gas station for $65.00,,I drove it till the engine gave up...Really wish I had kept both of them... but I just restored my '74 Jensen Healey..LOVE IT TOO..only I miss the SWEET BUGEYE SMILE. :-) the "Happy Little Car"..Thank You, Max, for the memories.

Wow! Glad I came across your channel. I had a 1967 VW Beetle, loved watching you restore that. But my first car was a 1963 Austin Healey Sprite, first year after bug-eye.... OH WHAT FUN! Love seeing what you are doing!

This is amazing! The fact that you take everything apart and rebuild it all, and you even remember how the stuff goes back together!!!

Woe! I had 2 Bug-eyed Sprites and restored one... The other was for Parts... I did Not restore the one I did, to the accuracy that you have gone to. Mind you, Mine was a lot newer than yours... For me, it was around 1971, so most everything was like new... I really enjoyed your video and it brought back some great memories... Thanks :-)

I kind of cringed when you dismantled the gearbox, thinking that you were starting with the last item you should be. But I kind of got really into it, you are doing a great and thorough job.

great work but I bet you had loads of fun cleaning the baked on powder coating off of threads and out of bolt holes...they sell sets of silicone plugs and bolt covers to prevent the powder coating on those areas.

I always cringe a little, when I see you working in your garage with bare feet! Inevitably, you are lifting a heavy part or using caustic chemicals (or both!), whenever you have no shoes one!! Just a constructive criticism. Love the vids. The editing is outstanding, it really makes the channel. Keep up the strong work.

I could have had one of these for 60 bucks.... NO LIE.... and this wasn't back in the day... this was like last month.... but this thing was the biggest little pos car you could find... it was all there, just rotted to hell, even had a clean title.... I wish I would have bought it... i could have sold the title for a lot of money by itself... (or use it for my buggy) Joking... it was a 1960 last year for the bug eye..

Why do car videos have to be accompanied by metal music? It seems most unfitting for such a car.
