I’m a hybrid player and I’d say I’m above average on both inputs. Keyboard and mouse players obviously have and advantage when is comes to building and editing. But on controller I find myself hitting a lot harder with shotguns and having a lot better bloom on controller. Not only that but my movement on controller is way better. In this specific season with thing like heavy snipers and drum gums I find myself jumping into peoples boxes and taking a 50/50 and almost always winning. It doesn’t surprise me that controller players are dominating this season but that’s not due to them having a crazy advantage in my opinion it has to do with this specific seasons meta. Both keyboard and mouse and controller have its advantages and disadvantages, which one is better or op all has to do with your opinion on what mechanics (editing, building, aim, etc) is the most important. I lean more towards using my controller to play arena games as I think having good AR aim can come in very handy especially for end-game frags. I’m afraid aim assist might get some nerf though since there is so many big names in the community complaining about it.

There are some difficulties that nobody talks about for controller players, and I think no one on controller says anything about them because it’s all we’ve ever known. Some examples: When looting you have to move the cursor to the appropriate spot after you pick it up (sounds simple, causes a lot of problems in a chaotic fight/endgame). You also can’t switch from your 4 slot to your 1 slot instantly, you need to tap R1/L1 3x until you get the right item. And probably the most subtle but weirdest one, you need to switch to build mode to place a build on controller. It sounds funny, but anyone who has gone Controller->M&KB can tell you it’s the weirdest thing to place a build with a single button without having to first press B/circle. In a game where split seconds mean everything, this makes a huge difference. With that being said, as a controller player I whole heartedly agree that Aim assist has gotten out of hand. Anyone with a halfway decent shot on controller is unstoppable with a SCAR/Blue AR. I can’t even “low-launch” 50 yards anymore without getting beamed for 150+. If that’s too harsh, they could counter it by buffing AA for shotguns, because despite what all of you M&KB players think- close range shotgun fights are 100x harder on controller than on M&KB.
