Bammy, I disagree with the other two fellas here, I don't think just anyone could tongue and play like this. I'm glad someone posted this song on here, just great!

What timmyboy said. The song is easy if you master double tongueing. I was playing the first trumpet part to this song at the age of 16 with little to no problems.

This so cool. I knew Vicki years ago and she is an awesome trumpet player. I remember her winning with a group from highschool an award with honors in a brass quintet and they played Canadaina Brasses version of the canon... Newt

1st time I heard this I was playing bass in a USAF jazz band-the Downbeats-at the Toips In Blue contest in Wash. DC. I loved it then, and your version is great now.

I haven't picked up a trumpet in 20 years, so I doubt I can still double-tongue, but I loved playing this one in high school. You're right, kamakamameleon, this is not the Canadian Brass at their best. Normally, they rock (in a brass-ensemble kinda way), but while this is good, it's not their usual quality.

Mr. Clark, You obviously didn't see the post that I was ridiculing when I wrote what I did...Pure sarcasm over some semi-literate writing and was not intended in any way to diminish the young lady playing the trumpet. I think she's exceptional. Since I play the saxophone and clarinet it would be difficult, if not impossible to join in and play with this group...After all, Leroy Anderson DID write this specifically for the trumpet in 1954.

@QddpprrQ: I think you've mistaken the sound made by the excellent tubist - Charles Daellenbach. He's playing way above the normal range of a tuba, that'll why it sounds like a baritone...

to circular breath, puff ur cheeks with air then push the air from ur cheeks into your horn while breathing in with your nose. it takes a while to do it tho. My teacher told me to practice it by blowing bubbles in a cup of water (with a straw) Eventually i got it just keep practicing

I find double tonguing to come in useful. I know people older than me who just can't get it and some who get it easily. I was lucky to catch on quickly. Although I do have a question...any one can give me pointers on circular breathing? when i was in school, my douchebag of a teacher told me that double/triple tonguing and circular breathing werent worth teaching. Any pointers?

Multiple tonguing is a basic skill for brass players at even a semi-professional level. Bugler's Holiday is at about the difficulty level appropriate for a decent high school band. A typical undergraduate trumpet student in conservatory would be able to sightread through it without much difficulty.
