Thanks Rich, good review. We bought our 2000W Bluetti Power Bank and solar array based on your review. Just delivered today so will charge it tonight. We will use it to support our house battery on our caravan and also on our boat. The latter because we go offgrid quite often. I like your reviews for equipment and events. When you do the event reviews, maybe you could touch on the available facilities, access etc to inspire attendance at the next year event.

One thing struck me when you spoke about crimping those cables, it’s your vehicle so you do it your way. To be honest if your way works and is safe then it’s not a wrong way, just a different way to what some people may do. I’m rapidly coming round to your way of thinking about these power banks is the costs against costs of all the separate parts. I think for me the perfect setup would be one of those power banks as well as a smaller AGM and a B2B. Then use some Anderson Power Pole connectors to switch around supplies. Your van is coming along nicely mate.

Not a bad shout but I’d stick with the lithium batts now Iv had them. The charge rate is insane
@sunseeker8457

An ok review. But you missed a couple of things. The 12v cig socket is useless as it only draws max 100w into the unit. That will take 8+ hours to charge. No one wants to drive that long. Bin it. Buy the Bluetti DO 50S charging enhancer. Now this goes into your car / van 12v cig socket (there is another way from your battery. But let's do the easy way just now) and plugs into the unit where you charge from the home 240v AC. Now you have about 250w to max 500w charging your unit up while your driving. PLUS.... you can both charge max 900w of solar AND AC or DC charge while you're driving at the same time giving you a max input charge of around 1400w +/-

@@Bugoutvehiclesuk Wow. Very touchy.!!!! No one said to go out and re-film anything (you need a chil pill man). You can do a follow-up video with updated info. Another thing that you can do to the 200 Max is that you can also charge it up from car EV stations when there is no sun for solar. You just need an extension for about £100 or so. Plug in and charge.

Personal preference. I like to plot up for a few days so I like solar to take the edge off what I’m using but it’s not an issue if you are moving location each day and charging back up by running the engine.

Nooo! You can’t cut off an Anderson connector! I seem to have a fetish for them. The little ones are good for 30A. Of course the sensible thing to do would be to cut the connector off and wire directly to the fuse box and eliminate any voltage drop from the connector.

It's the logical way for builds to go. By the time you add up the individual ("Blue"?) Units, cabling, time, or the cost of a "professional" install you could (probably) have a bank on either side, or front/ back of the van, and working within a few hours. Even if you used a small unit for the second one, you've got redundancy.

It’s a hard one because I love the way my other camper sits there and re charges silly fast but it was way more than this set up and I have no inverter on the Landy so no 240v. It’s all a trade off I suppose.

Great video. I bought a £50 500 watt pure sine wave inverter off Amazon and use that to charge my bluetti whilst driving @ 400 watts to get around the 120watt 12 volt limit. The inverter is wired through a £35 victron 120a relay so it can only work whilst the van is running. Works a treat. It’s great they’ve added the 30 amp 12 volt output, I think I’ll be upgrading to what you have. 😀

Quite Impressed with the bluetti, I got the EB70 a little while back which I believe equates to about 60ah (equivalent to a 120ah AGM or lead acid) and it will run a fridge for atleast a few days and runs the diesel night heater too as the 12v output can handle 10a which is handy 👍

@Bugoutvehiclesuk
@Bugoutvehiclesuk 11 күн бұрын
Good question and there are different answers depending on how safe you want to be. So I will be connecting me kitchen socket (only for coffee machine) and garage socket to the inverter as the one I have is fused. However if you want to be properly safe then it’s always going to be better running through a more domestic fuse board first to get that fast trip RCD trip. Deffo getting multiple ppls take and exactly why they think it tho.
