I was pretty far into the game and could have finished it earlier, but I decided to dig out a big space in the mountain because bugs like to spawn in dark, hidden places. This trick doesn't work every time, but it often lets you choose where the bugs appear. Once you set it up, just place some fire bombs and wooden stuff inside. It's really fun to watch everything catch fire and the bugs get taken out!

How does your game run so fast?

I am very particular on what mods I add, I really enjoy modded gameplay but I tend to enjoy vanilla gameplay more if that means my game runs well. Here is my current mod list. Noteworthy performance mods: [FSF] Filth Vanishes With Rain And Time - Filth and dirt slows down your game, the best way to describe it is if you can see it on your screen its using part of your ticks per second. This includes your colonist bar etc so after a battle or food poisoning there may be a lot of dirt, flith or vomit on the ground which takes up some of your speed so this gets rid of it quicker than normal. RocketMan Default Ingredient Radius - keeping your ingredient radius low really speeds things up since the game isnt having to look across the entire map to check on ingredients for the current bill on a workbench or stove.
