Heads up; the "Unable to resist" lines happen during the fight itself. In order to get a character to die, they need to eat Bugsnax, which can only occur if their side-quest was not completed. Those lines are what they can say as they're eating Bugsnax during that last segment. They have lost control. It's not a talk segment, it's just a thing that can occur, which is why it's before the actual, final lines themselves.

Every single character manages to overcome their insecurities during the side quests, which is why they fight back during the final segment, they don't have to rely on bugsnax to be happy anymore, and every death quote has them mention the insecurities, like how chandlo says he isn't strong enough, or how wambus says he's a failure. Then snorpy is there, talking about the grumpinati, clearly he is the only non insecure character.

"No sense delaying the inevitable" is actually the saddest one for me. Triffany is a well known nihilist, many people don't mention that since it goes against the stereotype of "asshole depressed nihilist" that people think is the default of such phylosophy on life. But even then, through the game, she explains a certain fear of dying without leaving a trace, the same way her grandma did. Is why when she says the line "It could be thousands of years until someone discovers what happened to Liz" she doesn't sound sad, but rather slightly hopeful, she finds comfort in a trace of the self being left behind. She turning into Bugsnax is the worst case scenario because it leaves nothing for anyone to find, no bones, no footprint, she would end up like her grandma.

I'm... glad I helped the grumpses with their side quests, but more than just being immune to snackafication. As much as they hated one another, another they cared for, atleadt they were willing to sort things out with one another at the end, even some teaming up with the members they hated. But in the end, atleast the grumpeses who suffered the bad ending can be saved, if they can resist hopefully and learn that they don't need bugsnax. They have better lives at new grump city. They just gotta try.

overanalyzing the death lines Chandlo feels as if his efforts amount to nothing, as if he'll just never be enough to protect Snorpy. Even in his finale, all he wanted was to protect Snorpy, and that got ahead of him, which lead to his demise. Snorpy's situation is the same as Chandlo's, but the opposite at the same time. His is a classic example of "rather it be me than you". He is not "brainwashed", necessarily, but he is accepting of his fate, believing that letting himself be annihilated is the only way to truly protect Chandlo. Shelda is either completely oblivious to her own fate, or is trying to hide the fact that she is on the brink of death to keep those around her calm. Floofty has been driven mad by their work, to the point of cutting off parts of their body. They believe that their recklessness is for "the greater good", but it often led to more harm than help, which results in their death. Cromdo is another example of something similar to Floofty, giving in for a career aspect. He believes that, whatever fortune he seeks, he will find it through Bugsnax. In the end, his greed took over, and it amounted to too much. Beffica felt as though she could never truly trust anyone in her group, often isolating herself and learning from afar, using underhanded snooping to find out about everyone. She had gotten brainwashed to the point where she felt the only things she could trust were these edible parasites. Gramble's pretty much broke me. He had given so much love to things that only used it against him. In the end, he only saw his death as joining the only family he cared for. Wiggle is fully aware that she is dying, hell, even embracing it. She is accepting of her death as she feels it is her one, true, final spotlight, and her last tune was to be dedicated to the very thing that killed her. Triffany never focused on the present, always gazing back on the past to escape the harsh reality of it all. She sees her death as just another page in the book of life as we know it. Wambus sees himself as inadequate, brutish, and worthless. He had only come to Snaktooth for his wife, and even she had grown distant. Even on his last breath, he hated himself for everything he had ever done.

The fact that they sound still sane and intact with their personality is more unnerving. They slowly become bugsnax but it's not a self aware thing. In a way it's just bugsnax replicating or imitating their personalities before they shatter. Meaning that at some point when they lose control they're practically already dead. Like shelda is still completely in character up until she falls apart. And shes known for dropping her persona around Floofty and the player, because those two are aware of her fakeness.

If think about it, what Liz said about bugsnax exploiting weaknesses, its true! Chandlo gives in to his desire to be more than he is, Snorpy gives in to his obsessions with the grumpinati, shelda gives in to wanting to be all powerful, Floofty gives in to their crazy ideas. cromdo gives in to his greed. beffica gives in to her loneliness, Wambus shows his low self confidence, and Triffany, well, I'm not too sure.

I think Triffany just sorta gave up on living. Her job as an archaeologist and the grim history of Snaktooth Island fed into her fascination, or obsession, with the dead, and her bio states that she was already pretty nihilistic. I’m guessing her grandma’s fate on the island being left completely ambiguous didn’t do her any favors as well.

@@Ashurman666 Oh please, even if it is a (at first) cutsey muppet game with Pokemon-ish food creatures that doesn't automatically make something a kids game. There's more to a game than the style of something, it's also the themes in it that matter. We have literal PARASITES that will not only be addictive to you if you eat them but they will also exploit your weaknesses and will literally kill you if you eat too much of them and will do so by FORCE, aka, it's themes of substance abuse, the Bugsnax and their effects are a straight up allegory to drug use, something that a simple "kids game" wouldn't have. Hecc, I've seen folks say that when their younger relatives (whatever they be, their own children or just related by blood) reached the Undersnax bit of the game and then on they would be scared or have nightmares. What kids game would scare its supposed demographic like that? TL;DR: You ever watch "Don't hug me I'm scared"? It looks like it's for kids, but the further you get in its videos, the more horrifying it gets until the end of said video. This game is just exactly like that.
