I know exactly where you're taking about. I've speared there. I also used to spear at the other end of the island. There used to be a "yacht club" restaurant at the end of the road at Darrit. I used to wade in their and swim between the little islets going a long way. There's a bridge over a channel by the copra factory (if the factory is still there). I used to drift live bait out on the tide with a float and catch big trevally, coral trout, snappers, sharks and even tuna on a good day. I used to run small cargo boats through that channel and go over to Arno and some other islands for Robert Reimer (he's probably passed away long ago) and for his son Ramsey. Used to troll in/out and bottom fish while sitting at anchor. I think I got a buck a pound ungutted for all the fish in the old Reimers grocery store, not the new mall (it was brand new, just built) when I was there. Before the Reimers built the hotel on the lagoon side, that was still under construction. I miss the Marshalls, was a fun time.
