How do you use the wifi when away from vehicle? Leave the vehicle on?

The vehicle ignition needs to be in the “Run” or “Accessory” position for the Wi-Fi Hotspot to be active.

If you have an active subscription for WiFi, I'd recommend bringing it to a GM dealer to get it repaired. If your subscription isn't active, that may be the problem.
