This is one of the best starting bases, i raided the egg farm and have like a thousand eggs to burn through, i have cleared the forest behind the station and built my own livestock farms, really enjoying it

massive base, incredible lighting, and right next to fuel pumps! what more could you possibly ask for? looks like a lot of time and effort was put into the construction of this cosy environment, excited to test out the location myself in due time!

when i came across this gas station with an apartment upstairs, immediately decided to make this my new base camp. so cozy lol. and the basement is a plus!

Yea its honestly one of the best bases for echo creek i love everything about it!!

I loved the basement, personally I would add sand bags in either the entrance or the basement to form a barricade since you said you could sort of 'retreat and live there' if zombies broke in, following the same theme, if you want decoration you could maybe add a film camera simulating a last stand bunker (again with sand bags around and a table with guns, etc)
