Just found your channel, great work, love it! 1. How about Microsoft cognitive frameworks or Watson? 2. Also, is there a fundamental difference between Siri/google-now like "agents" and other bot frameworks like api/watson etc 3. Last question, do these bot frameworks use neural nets for generative models or is it a retrieval based model. New to this, so please excuse ill-fitting terminology :)

I've been learning how to build chatbot and this video saves me from reading a bunch of documentations. By the way, what is your opinion on Microsoft's LUIS API? I have some experience in .NET and it seems like a good alternative to api.ai with Microsoft's own speech recognition and other services

Hi there, great video. I am also trying to use API.AI to build (what???) - yes, a flower bot. As I am a florist, not a programmer, I cannot figure out just two things - how I (human) can pick up the discussion at a certain point (I have to have an alert and access to the current chat, not a problem in Mesenger, but a nightmare in Telegram and web) and, more important, how I have conversations documented and sent by e-mail to me with all the parameters gathered neatly (like the order, address, etc...). I would really appreciate your help

Hi, thanks, it is an interesting reading by itself but does ot answer the questions (maybe I missed something, will go throutgh again). I think the truth lies somewhere in Python functions like sendmail etc. I think that without such functions the bots are commercially not viable, at least for my business - I have to have a report of what bit has told and have a possibility to interfere

Hey Siraj, awesome vid. I managed to build all the way up to run demo.py but any input (even hi) causes trackback errors to do with main - result = response['result']. Any ideas? I noticed that API.AI has changed a whole ton since this vid.

I haven't tried Microsoft's framework yet. I do think this bot they have is really cool bots.botframework.com/bot?id=4104c73d-90d6-4572-95eb-95241bd0cacb but i do see it doesn't integrate into as many services as API.AI does

Hi Siraj, Im trying to make the same chatbot as the example but pull the values I need from what the user types. Not sure how to do it, as what Im doing doesn't work. Pretty much: Im trying to write the values to a text file, say what flower type the user wants -> grab from what they input and write. Would I do it in the if statements? if result['action'] == 'colour': colourType(user_input) text_file.write(user_input) (???) or is it in the function: def flowerType(flowerType): text_file.write(user_input) Neither of these seem to work and neither seem to be called ... even if I put a print statement it doesn't get called. Please help me dude

iteratively program. so just have one line in your python file that prints out hello world and see if that compiles and runs. if that works, add more. you'll figure it out that way
