I am still working on it new version is half the size and cheaper to build. You can see the rendering in discord and instgram. New one will have "smart obstacle avoidance" path planning with a overhead external camera. All these features have been individually tested but not put together yet. Maybe first quarter of 2024. Hey great project! can you please tell how did you design the expression? I want to design additional emotions such as anger, love, happy, etc? I can convert the image to bmp array, but which software and how did you use to make the eye's shapes?

I made then on paper then did the same in photo shop. Made frame by frame saved as image then convert to array.

Esp8266 has only one core so you won't be able to run FreeRtos. However there are other ways like using timers but for that you will have to modify the code heavily.

Heyy, basically i had a doubt that why using a 7.4v battery pack ig the motor driver can run on 5v and additionally if it's possible we won't need to use 5v buck converter... Idk I'm right or worng.. i just asked you out of curiosity, thank you!!

Buck convert is to step down the voltage to 5v for esp32. There is no 5v battery. 7v will give more speed but that's not needed in this project.

I am using esp32 it only needs 3.3 volt. I am using 7v battery. Stepping down os just for safety it will generate less heat. Look into the datasheet of whatever electronics you are using then decide.

For now its a basic wifi controlled robot. In the next upgrade I will add autonomous navigation. Eventually I will add a camera so that robot can follow the user and react to the environment.
