This was SOOOO helpful to my event planning business! I doubt either of you sew clothes very much but sewing interfacting available at any fabric store or even Wal Mart is a great more durable alternative to the tissue paper. Thanks for the video!

Very helpful! I especially like the way you made the thing foldable by leaving a gap between the boards. That's great for those of us in small spaces.

here's a tip for everybody the parts you cut out you can make another photo box then another and another etc. you will end up with a lot of different sizes even ones for macro photography and they will store in each other. One more tip before I go put a sheet of tissue paper on the front with a hole for the lens so it will diffuse all light no matter where it's coming from.

Love the video. Huge fan of the light box, but I am even more astonished at the fact that I've never thought to clip my lights to a piece of wood before. That makes the perfect base to move it around when there isn't something close to clip it on. Genius!

Hi, I have been trying to photograph some jewelry that my wife has made but I couldn't figure out why it all looked so bland especially when using a flash and it was not much better when using sun light and it was all blurred without a flash. So I did a search and this is where I ended up and now I am planning to go to the DIY store tomorrow and build myself a light box. I think this could be the answer to my problems. Great video. Great video guys. I'm heading to the store for foam board right now and am really excited to finally have my own light box. Thanks for the nice video and thumbs-up personalities.
@gregmcqueen93259 жыл бұрын
I built one similar to this using the foam core itself as a diffuser, rather than cutting out windows and covering with tissue. I taped two pieces of foam core together X2 and use L brackets to join the two larger components as needed. I use steno clips to hang various colours of poster board. Using foam core instead of tissue means more light or a longer shutter speed are needed, but this isn't an issue when shooting inanimate objects in a controlled environment. I use the same clamp utility lights as well.

Ty for this tutorial! My husband and son built the light box for me and it looks perfect. The only problem is that right now I just tried it with two lamps and I don't get that real "white" backgroound effect. Should I use another light from the top? I want to avoid having to edit the pics in gimp or any other program because I'm not very good with those programs and it is just tooo time consuming. I'm an Etsy seller (hand made cards) so, I need quick, nice images. I appreciate your advice!!
