Sending emails after a customer signs up, is not always straight forward! In this video I describe how you can create an authenticated application using AWS Amplify. We'll then take a look at how to send an email after a user successfully signs up. We'll be looking at AWS Amplify, AWS SES, and creating a Lambda using a Post confirmation trigger.

What if we wanted to add them to our dynamoDB, for post confirmation not pre signup?

If even the amplify devs still use the code as verification on their tutorials in 2023, you know how bad the solution is using a verifaction email with a link. To customize the redirect URI is a total mess. An S3 bucket is created and you totally can not understand the templates. The UX signup with cognito is still weird with verifacation code. And the workarounds for verifaction link are insane. The feature has been requested many times by the community since 2017 and it still didn't change. This is still a killer for cognito unfortunately. So please, provide: SignUp with verifaction link in email with custom redirect URI AND autmatic signIn after verifying. This is UX in 2023. Thx.

Is there a way to automate the creation of an identify? Like if a user is creating an account and specifies an email to contact them, how would I automate the adding and verification of the email in SES?
