Very well done - I was able to finally get this working but would add that an important aspect of the Sketch is to look for a low signal over a window of time since the low voltage can be short duration. Although I can get responses from RC RF devices, I get no response to my cell phone like you show.

I had the same question. I did a continuity check to find that the supply ground is connected to the outer "OUT" labeled line. That is the one with the square pad is ground and the one with the circular pad is the signal.

having watched your other vid on a using a discreet wheatstone bridge for the same job, i'd love to know which one is the most sensitive?
@0033mer
@0033mer 11 ай бұрын
Generally they are about the same. The wheatstone bridge will degrade a bit as the frequency increases as it does not have the bandwidth as the RF amplifier version. When you are in close proximity to the transmitter the performace is basically the same.

Hi champ, love your work! Could this be used to compare antennas? Cheers!
@0033mer
@0033mer 2 жыл бұрын
Yes ..You can measure the field strength of two transmitting antennas under the same conditions for comparison. The RF amplifier is broadband so ensure no other transmitters are in the area while testing. For more accurate results use a voltmeter to measure the DC voltage output of the amplifier. There is a voltage vs signal strength chart that can be used to obtain the results. The chart can be seen in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIfEmoqwf7iphLc

I added my RF detector module output to the analog input of arduino but it detects DC background of output instad of AC signal so I add a capacitor but you didn't use it. Also arduino continuously detects 60Hz noise from near electronic devices.
@0033mer
@0033mer 4 жыл бұрын
The output of the RF detector is DC, from .5vdc to 1.65vdc. The capacitor you added on the ADC pin will make it floating so it could pick up stray AC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Arduino could be replaced by LM3914 in this case....
@0033mer
@0033mer 6 жыл бұрын
Yes .. that would be a good choice as a no code solution and you get 10 output LEDS. I have used the LM3914 in this type of application. Texas Instruments has announced End of Life on the DIP package so it will soon be obsolete. The current price on old stock is the same as a Nano online. I like the ability to set the threshold levels in software and I have multiple profiles for different radio applications stored in flash. If you have any LM3914s on hand you can use it to replace the Nano.

Yo. Why are not we using power and thus information transmission through Earth as Nikola Tesla devised it? Like his wardencliffe tower might look like aether pulsed propagation but in fact is just an air capacitor for the current to do its work from Earth. He also explains that you can automodulate the signal so you can transmit voice with no microphones or speakers and so on

I use the Forth programming language for all my code and do not use the Arduino IDE so there is no sketch. Forth is faster and more efficient. To program a sketch, take the ADC reading and turn on more LEDs as the value increases. Another option is to use a LM3914 bar display in place of the Nano.
