Beautiful. I built one my self. It's been over a year without having to replace the water. Behind the mini waterfall, I build a mechanic and bio filter. At least I have to maintain the filter every 6 months or so. Same as you did, I too put water lilies and small fishes. Since mine is outdoor, I provided rainwater drainage in my setup.

pH: Cement is Alcaline, so the water. Palm is acid and level the pH. Soil: clean river sand and gravel (never beach sand) Filter: Pumice, porouse volcanic stones.

yup.. cabe done with an old car's front windscreen.... just use alot of silicone so that it seals well. i seen it done a few times
