Could you make a film about: .How go fast leveling through acts 1 2 3 etc... what quests do or witch not..... When start ELITE? When start Forgotten Gods or another expansion? In POE theres a lot of tutorials like this.... How to fast leveling through ACTS...etc... Sometimes I play GD and I reach lvl 50 in 2nd ACT! TOM

I have this video on how to speedlevel alts from 1 to 94 in ~7h kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYqohWR8abqensk , but it requires some items. I don't have a video for speedleveling a fresh char yet, but you could check out my SSF beginner series until then. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2HMlGp9gr2sqpY

Here's a written version of Malagant's 1-94 in 5 hours... I got lazy and gave up writing after the first hour and a half, but it does get you into the 50s, provided you have exp pots and Lokarr's set and such. You definitely want to focus on fighting at devotion shrines only, and rapidly completing quests as fast as possible, while not getting bogged down with random trash monsters. If you can't fight in Lokarr's, then at least equip it and other +exp gear before you turn in a quest, cuz the quests can often get you into the next level. docs.google.com/document/d/1sxXqbwko9GSt3v_Ih9pI-ftWIOQNQU5J8QzGsbQHsbg/

Excelent video. I have a question related to components. Where can I get Celestial Lotus? Some sets need a lot of these lotuses.
@rektbyprotoss4 жыл бұрын
The Shattered Realm gives you lots of Celestial Lotuses at higher shards, but it's pretty difficult. An easier way to farm them is doing messenger runs. www.grimtools.com/monsterdb/2115/items he has a ~6,93% droprate for lotuses, is rather easy to kill and the run to him from the korvan city rift pretty short.

Loved all the info thank you, the thing im mostly struggling with is what green items to keep my stash is soooo full and i keep getting so many MI items haha.How do you handle this?
@rektbyprotoss4 жыл бұрын
I use the default shared stash for leveling items only. For all endgame items I use GD:Item Assistant, which basically gives you unlimited stash alongside a search bar and filters. It does however not work with steam cloud save.

So I'm new to GD, still learning and learning a lot from you. I have 2 questions, if you have a weapon like the Korvan Halberd, that does 100 lightning damage, and you us it in combat, aka melee, is it's damage modified by your global lightning/elemental bonuses? Second, how can you get a higher level of a unique drop? i.e., Milton's casque, My chr is lvl45, but everytime i go back to Milton, he still drops the lvl 12 casque.
@rektbyprotoss3 жыл бұрын
100 flat lightning damage of a weapon will be increased by %lightning and %elemental damage, yes. Item drops are dependant on the enemie's level not your own. If an enemy doesn't scale past a certain level in a difficulty you would have to farm that boss on the next difficulty instead. Milton is a great example, to get a higher level helm, you have to go to elite and eventually to ultimate to keep farming upgrades.

Ive heard you say in several of your vids that one should streamline the damage of builds and limit it to just one (via conversions or ignoring the other damage type the class/player choice would support). Again, due to my complaints about my cold AAR caster being hilariously ineffective when faced with anything that wears a piece of gear that gives it (increased beyond standard) resistance to cold, i disagree. It is possible to make a dual damage build that can take on end game content... its just highly unlikely one will get enough damage output and RR to sustain two damage types (read: items necessary to achieve that will never drop, although lately ive found a lvl94 "Essence drinkers" leafmane throphy "of Tormented souls", which would be ideal for any combination using both aether and vitality). Heres two examples of dual damage builds that ive mustered up a while ago (theorycrafted, in the process of assembling gear for one of them), where one will be able to take on just about anything, while the other is going to fail horribly (will explain why): 1. www.grimtools.com/calc/Q2zxWm4Z this build misses Morgs headgear, his whomper, rings and a (suitable) medal. Other than that everything is assembled. Damage sits at a comfortable multiplier of 21x for both damage types and RR at over 80 for both damage types. While its not 100 for both, i would be dealing two damage types, essentially removing the risk of hitting a brick wall of something having added resistance via RNG gear that appears on mobs. 2. www.grimtools.com/calc/a2dML59V this build only has the chillwhisper set, the medal and (if i craft enough times...) gloves and boots. The remaining greens are too rare to assemble but thats beyond the point - the (hypothetical) damage multiplier of 17x is too low to consider viable (imo) as is the very poor RR (80-ish vitality and 50-ish cold). Its not going to get anywhere even if id managed to get these exact items. In other words, its trash. The game has classes that (usually) support more than one damage type, so it is safe to conclude that there should be gear available to achieve a dual damage build. Sometimes though i really wonder if thats really what Iron L... **cough** Crate has intended. It seems extremely unlikely that a 4 or 5 piece set would give out enough damage to support a dual damage build. The absolute need for RR is also cutting viability of, otherwise sound, builds. A mistake has been made somewhere in development, where reducing the players resistances by 25-50% in ultimate is a way of balancing the game. All those wasted slots that could be used for boosting damage are essentially lost. Hopefully GD2 will fix some of those issues, as amassing piles of gear just to get high enough resistances is really tedious, while damage output is low. Mobs go from a few hundred HP in normal, to hundreds of thousands of HP in ultimate (or millions if its the celestials). The players damage scales but it doesnt scale that well. It also doesnt help that were wasting 100 skill points on the mastery bars, something that should unlock as you level (giving you the appropriate stats and unlocking the skill tree) and not need an investment from the player (meaning the soonest you would get to, for example, AAR would be level 25... deal with it i say). The chase after OA/DA is also terrible. Some sets just dont give any OA or DA and require a lot of farming to make the build viable (the 2.8k benchmark for both...). While the crit system is in the game, it could be simplified (or "modernized"). Back to what i was saying , though, dual damage builds exist but require a lot more gear assembling. Hopefully it will get easier in GD2.
@rektbyprotoss4 жыл бұрын
I mean yea after reading what you wrote and looking at the builds you posted, I still stand by my statement that one should generally streamline damage to only one damage type for endgame. Dual damage builds work a long way, but for actual endgame they are currently basically always inferior (there are like 1-2 dual damage builds for ~100 single damage builds) and if you check out high performance endgame builds e.g. on the forum, it'll be pretty much impossible to find a single dual damage build. The main thing that makes single damage builds so much stronger than dual damage builds is the strengh of resistance reduction in Grim Dawn, which will hopefully see some changes for GD2.

@@LiezAllLiez You wrote a healthy piece of proza there and I get what you are trying to say, but Rekt is correct. What I would like to add is, that it is almost impossible to do just one damage type in GD, But your focus should be on one, the other you take into consideration and if the two work well together, then combine them. For example is you are doing a cold build anything that is elemental damage could be added, because you can have elemental RR. If your AAR is not doing any damage then check your resist reduction, it is the most important thing in the game, more important than adding damage. Final note: nobody is right. I watched his vid because I know he is very good at GD, but I for instance use Grimtools sparingly, all my builds are organic (I guess 4500h of GD helps). So you do whatever makes it fun for you and that would be right for you.
