Great session as most of them were, but why is the camera switching / taking the studio or the talking person's view instead of focusing on what is being shown on the monitors, which is in my opinion what really matters?

if it works on Mac, it should be able to work on linux. they have very similar base systems. Even if it's just an electron-shell for blazor, I'd be happy with it.

I don't want my mobile app to look like a bootstrap web page..but this does open the door to unlimited flexibility if you build native UIs with a sprinkle of html when necessary..
@ZephrymWOW2 жыл бұрын
So don't use bootstrap? Its almost like you have an entire ecosystem of alternatives to pick from or you can make your own.

Great video. I think Blazor will be the future of development! Much better than MVC (with no viewstate!) and lightweight (unlike webforms!), and enough with so difficult proprietary Android/iOS devs. Bring on Blazor for all!!!

It seemed very interesting on the surface but I was pretty disappointed when figured it's just a glorified phonegap clone. Worst thing is that it work on top of xamarin which is a total deal breaker for me.

I love Blazor more than most of everybody, but the frequency of the word 'native' and 'run natively' in this video and alike makes me doubt, that web view control is really that 100% native.

Big fail! We don't want another Electron-like least common denominator solution. We want powerful native UIs leveraging the full capabilities of the OS. Microsoft just can't get it! Didn't you learn anything from Windows 8?
@AntiPolarity3 жыл бұрын
Made the same mistake opinion at first when saw the browser component. But it is native and work exactly as i want it to work. So i would call it another big win since LINQ appeared.
@zimcoder3 жыл бұрын
You may need to listen to this again. There are Electron apps that have been successful, look at VS Code by Microsoft, it is one of the most popular code editors. But perhaps you are just angry with Microsoft, now that is another story altogether.
@obinnaokafor62523 жыл бұрын
Are you angry?
@bobweiram63213 жыл бұрын
@@zimcoder Yes, there are quite a few electron based Apps that are successful, such as VS Code and Discord. Unfortunately, these apps have very simplistic UI's which don't have anywhere near the same performance and quality. The interfaces don't have a native look and feel. For Windows, Android and Linux, they are more than adequate since the standards for a quality UI are much lower than on MacOS and iOS. Steve Jobs realized this early on and encouraged native development for the iPhone. It's why the iPhone apps do much better than Android apps where developers just leverage HTML and CSS to build interfaces.

Came here to say the same thing. They keep on saying ”it runs natively”. Embedded web browsers are not native. Unless they agree that phonegap is native, because that’s what this is ; Phonegap , except Blazor will run on top of a sluggish mono runtime. Sorry guys , I don’t get the point of this. Just learn Xaml, that’s as native as you will get.
