I really enjoy your courses witch I do for a hobby as I'm 79 now and you're the first to explain grid in a way that was clear and easy to understand. Also I hope you do a update on Flex. Thanks Ninja it gives me a lot of pleasure just wish I was 60 years younger

this grid system used to be one of my biggest fears. I said "used to", thanks to you! Now I am having difficulties to understand why people are using css frameworks while you may have full control in each element.

thank you very much your tutorials are always on point, I just want to add a small suggestion, when you finish a playlist try to merge all the videos into a single long video, this will make more views, because people prefer a long video with chapters and sections in it over a playlist. thanks again.

An interesting question popped in my head, in the last media query, 980px one, is there a way to make it that the "aside" selector is above the "article"? I suppose we would have to add rows and change their positions on the grid-rows as well no?
@JimKernix2 жыл бұрын
Are you saying that it is standard practice to but the header and footer within the grid container?

mine looks crap compared with yours. Is it something to do with font size? Was there any background colour? I didn't notice any in the starter file. That being said...your videos really got me through my CSS roadblock!

Hello. Thanks for this video and for all your work in general. Is there a reason not to use grid-templates-areas or is it just a pedagogical choice because areas are not "complex and instructive" enough for this video serie?
@fdsafdsafdsaffdsafdsafdsaf34062 жыл бұрын
No need to be fancy, there are thousand ways to do one thing doesn't mean you need to know all. Just pick a way that make sense to you and stick with it. If you like grid-templates-areas uou can use it, nothing wrong with both

What's your thoughts on tailwind. I tried installing it vs, but it never seem to work for me, plus seems like you need to learn quite abit. More like relearning css all over again, but with some quirky things.
@NetNinja2 жыл бұрын
I quite like Tailwind as a utility library for quickly prototyping designs. I have a series about it here on my channel if you're interested in it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKnQdaGkbNGlpM0

Dude i straight up learnt css via tailwind. I would not be doing frontend if tailwind didn't exist.

Isnt mobile first the better way of teaching?
@NetNinja2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I mention mobile-first in the second video of the series. I advocate that and advise it, but for this series, to keep the focus on Grid, I mainly stick with desktop. I do have another series about mobile-first responsive design I will be making a CSS grid version of that in the future too :)

@@NetNinja awesome! I am looking forward to it. Thanks for your work
