I saw an explanation in the tooltip when you mouse'd over it, but Rain Chains are effectively decorative downspouts with less carrying capacity than a conventional Aluminum or PVC downspout. They'll usually be at the corners or wherever rain meets the edge of house to get it to the ground without making sheets of water. In real life, you'll want a basin to collect the rain or some other method to disperse the water away from the house so it won't seep in around foundations.

Yes mate! Exactly. I mean I liked tiny living, not an awful lot of items were tiny though and the murphy beds.. well... ignoring those for the rest of my life. Eco lifestyle has some nice bits and you don't really have to take part in the whole voting system thing which is cool cus.. who has time! I do like island living just because it's beautiful. I think the more recent packs and stuff is better... starwars I pretend i do not see it

I am super stoked about the build items too, but I'm also real happy to see how they actually used the same colors across the new clothes -- like, it looks like if they used grey in a pair of pants, and then they used grey in a shirt, it's the SAME grey, so you can actually match it... the furniture too, the swatches match!! very happy with this pack, can't wait to get my hands on it

Those tables are kotatsu: A kotatsu is a low, wooden table frame covered by a futon, or heavy blanket, upon which a table top sits. Underneath is a heat source, formerly a charcoal brazier but now electric, often built into the table itself.

A Kotatsu table is a winter appliance/furniture piece from mainly Japan, but found in other areas, the table top is lifted and the blanket can be stored within the the table, there are buttons because it is in fact heated under the blanket. Pronounced as Ko (like the abbreviation of company) Tat (rhymes with tot) su (said like sue). Fun fact, you can buy one on Amazon for about $300 USD. Its often said to be one of the most comfortable furniture items you can own. Also, the little red doll, it a Daruma doll, the inspiration for the Pokemon Darumaka, they are little hollow wooden dolls molded after the founder of Zen Buddhism, they are a good luck symbol and charm, said to bring about good fortune, good luck and are given as symbols of encouragement and for people to remember goals. One eye has a pupil drawn in and the other is blank, it is said when you are given one, you leave the blank eye blank, but once you achieve that goal, you personally fill the empty eye in with its pupil. Fun fact, there is a festival held, usually after New Years, where people bring their daruma dolls to a temple, give thanks to them before giving them to the temple where they are then burnt so that the people can get new ones for the goals of the new year.

Also the gatatsu table is my FAV from this pack. And plats forms are FUN and easy to work with. Depening on what ur build too. But i enjoy plats. Have been makeing some cool things with plats. Made a stage for my sims to sing or dance on and made a raised plat for my sims bed. Just to name a few things and BOTH worked out GREAT for my sims. Plan on makeing MORE stuff with plats. 👍👍👍👍

Split leveling is rather important though, Japan has something called a genkan. It's like a little entrance where the front of the house is lower that the rest of the flooring, it's a place to put your shoes. (And I want one where I live)

6:46 ish High school uniforms in Japan tend to be very formal, so I would say that is a school girl outfit. Some people might say “no, the school girl outfit in Japan is the sailor outfit” to which I say, they are wrong. Yes, in middle schools they use the Sailor variant of the school outfit, but they don’t use them as often in high schools, and high schools tend to have the more formal outfits. I hope this comment helps even though I’m a month late to the party 😅 5:54 And that is a school boy outfit. They probably have them because there are people in the community who have wanted school uniforms for a while (like myself, but I can’t get the pack) so that might be why they have them. Another reason might be because teenagers have to wear that to school? I don’t know, but the have a male and female school uniform!

A kotatsu is a extremely popular type of table in Japan that you can turn on to heat the underneath and the blanket on it keeps the heat inside. Japanese people often don’t have central heating so apartments and houses can become quite cold in the Winter. This is probably why EA aLao included a little heater. I wish we had a kotatsu right now in my house, it’s freezing.

This pack I... I never buy packs unless they are on sale but like... I dont know if I have the patience to wait more for this pack I need it very badly. As someone who is very interested in Japanese culture, and lives in a town that is known for outdoor winter sports (it snowed in early September I'm not even kidding) this pack is like.... I'm so excited. I just know that when I get it (because I'm 100% getting it) this world will be my favorite one. I won't want to leave lol. It's like a mix of my home and japanese culture and I'm freaking out. Also if anyone is wondering why theres so much layering it's because when it's cold and you're exercising, it's smarter/safer to put on a bunch if thinner layers as opposed to two thicker ones because if you get hot you can just remove one thin layer.
