Hope I don’t sound too over the top for a diy video, but to me this is brilliant work. The way you’ve combined so many skills with so much ingenuity is, well, inspiring stuff. Many thanks.

Do you like my "Parallel Guided Power Saw?" seen on you tube. Do you wish to join me to manufacture it. On the video you may see some pyramids I cut with my saw, which cannot be easily cut with another saw. The manufacturing company does not want my saw, so we have to start our company to make it.

Great idea!!!! but I’m thinking 10 minutes setup🤔🤔 maybe after you measured and cut all the wood and tubes, drilled out all the holes on tube, and grind the grooves on bearings, measure the length on cable, then put everything together. Yes then I see 10 minutes to install on wall. 🤣🤣🤣

Pro tip, or more to the point, from experience: Don't use an adjustable square to test for 90 degree angles. The 'adjustable' part means they are frequently anything but accurate.

Thanks for telling what you really need to have and have to to do in detail. I'd like very much to have a panel saw. It saves you a lot of space and makes cutting plywood a piece of cake. Where I learned cabinet making, there was a Striebig - 30 years ago.

Nice work Dude It S good and affordable design but apart from this well …nowadays u can find linear bearings at good prices almost everywhere inda world …much easier to set instead of drilling and setting all that materials bought recently a four kit 20 mm bearings and end brackets under 30 euros for a similar project Thanks for tips !!!

good work here and a nice result. especially inventive was the way you milled the outer bearing races to accept cable for the pulley system. i would like to have seen a dust control solution. for me engineering a shop tool begins and ends with dust-control. a small suggestion re those toggle clamps. they are usually absurdly cumbersome to adjust. i silver-braze nuts on mine and replace the threaded spindle with a length appropriate to the application (can use ordinary stainless hex head bolt and mortise and epoxy in a small wood pad with sandpaper on the clamping side)

I like this idea, but it isn't unique. JSK made one exactly like this one but used linear rails for his and when I built my 6ft Circular saw cross-cut jig I too used the linear rails. I originally bought a couple angle iron and 1/2" square tubing to keep the angle from sagging. Ultimately I used that steel for another project and bought the linear rails, block bearings, and ends. It slides with just a tiny push from a finger.

Saw is set in wrong direction, your cutting front to back instead of back to front. Blade is essentially spinning backwards, which is fine for plastic but not wood.
@4Fixerdave
@4Fixerdave 8 ай бұрын
And the results is that the tear-out is against the backing board, and thus reduced. Yes, you can run a circular saw backwards, and to good effect. It's just a lot safer on a sled.

I worried you are “climb” cutting, a potentially aggressive way to have the saw ripped out of your grip or to have material sucked into the saw.
