If you don’t have a flat piece of plastic or sharp pieces of wood for applying the cement just use a torn off piece of the box as a pallet and then tear of another piece and roll it up tightly to use as an applicator.

In the olden days I used to cut a piece of spruce off.. sharpen it, and use that to apply cement. Like you say, box inner tabs were good as a pallet 😀👍

I think I’ve got a 70s book with a guy painting a 1/32 (1/24?) one on the cover.. looks really cool! I’d only ever built a Matchbox kit so it was quite fun. I’m looking forward to doing the Tamiya 1/48 falklands build soon.

Good video. Just one problem, you could never get 200 rounds in a aden ammo box, you normally got 120 to 130 in depending on how well you could pack it (did it for 10 years).

Thanks Yousef, if I remember rightly assembly took around two/three days. I didn’t rush and it was a fairly straight forward build. Yes there’s a second part.. If its not linked at the end, try going to my channel,you will find it there as well as some other videos you might like 😀👍

Erm... 'hull' for a ship is an 'airframe' on an aircraft, basically the shape of the thing. 'Fuselage' is the bit the wings and tail surfaces are attached to. Lots of French words in flying, such as ailerons, empennage, hanger ( hangeir, a temporary wooden structure to keep a wagon or carriage in next to a house ), etc. Others come from ships: hardstanding ( concrete or tarmac place better than grass for a plane to sit on ), from 'hard' a solid safe place for a ship to rest when the tide goes out. Others seem to be unique: 'ramp' for where planes are stored outdoors, 'pan' for something similar but around the edge of the airfield as an offshoot from a 'perimeter track', one plane to one 'pan'. Sometimes called a 'dispersal'.

I've just bought this kit to give it ago. Is there a cheapish set of tools (knives, thing to apply glue etc) that you could recommend? Otherwise I'm using a Stanley knife for everything!

Hi Pete, you’ll find using cutters/snippers much easier (link below kit link) to remove the parts from the hangers. Use a small wire cutter tool if you have one around. You can use a Stanley blade to clean any excess plastic.. just be careful as they are pretty heavy duty for something like this. I use a barbecue skewer to apply the glue in this video but a sharpened matchstick will also do. Try not to use the tube glue straight onto the kit as it is really tricky to regulate how much flows out. Most important of all take your time!! Hope that helps - cheers

What colors did u paint the seat with?

If I remember right the main part is the same grey (164) you use for the rest of the cockpit and the head-rest is black. Last of all paint the cushion green (163). Double check the instructions to make sure I’m right.

Early Harrier 1960s seats were semi-gloss black except for the seat cushions ( green ) a white placard on the side near the side top, the dinghy pack ( gloss plastic green ) and the top-box ( mostly steel ), with the drogue gun on the side in 'gunmetal', and the ejection handles, seat and side, were yellow / black striped like a wasp. More up-to-date seats tend to have more grey components, and solid but still yellow / black striped handles.
