Hello Wayne, great video mate, it is very detailed isn't it, the large boxes on the sides of the engine can't remember what they are called, but I used to make thousands of them when I used to be a Die-Caster, they were a good job to work, also a great live stream last night, Lee.

I'm thinking that that last open screw hole is for the power steeing pump bracket. I think that my deliveries will be a month behind you, so, it's good timing. I get to learn from your example beforehand.

That's what I am doing. we are a month behind here in the US and I myself am probably another month behind as I didn't get issue two till March 10th due to some delay.

Generators were used up to the 60s/70s and were replaced by alternators. Not sure all the technical mumbo jumbo about it but alternators were better at low RPM and more reliable.

Generators on cars were usually called Dynamos before everyone changed to Alternators.

Bryan, Scott Not looking to prolong this point but dynamos and alternators are both generators. My 1971 TR6 was built with a dynamo and modified to an alternator during restoration in 2004. Wayne is fitting a generator but it is clearly a dynamo, not an alternator.

I'm sure a generator was simpler and the amount generated depended purely on rotational speed where the alternator is more complex and although it still charges at different rates etc there's more control and flexibility

The difference between a generator and an alternator is what spins. In a generator the magnetic field spins within a fixed set of windings. In an alternator the windings spin within a fixed magnetic field.

I dont know if you have came across it, but there is a UK listing on Ebay for 1/8 scale Ecto 1 decal set that has a bunch of OE factory under hood decals. Im going to be ordering one myself for the generator tag decal and the condenser terminal ring on the generator.

It is in fact a Generator. that is a water pump, not a timing belt cover. It's a Cam in block push-rod engine at 390 CI/ 6.4L

Please find below the email I have received today regarding the changes to the build for anyone interested. Hi Simon, I have heard back from Eaglemoss regarding your enquiry about the build. I have been informed that the air filter in the engine has been updated to better replicate the engine that the Ectomobile would have had. There are no LEDs for the fog lights as these were not used in the film. In terms of electrical functions, the Ecto has: - Working headlights and rear lights - Brake lights operated by the brake pedal - Siren - Horn - Engine sounds - Hood beacons - Rotating lights on front and rear - Interior light that comes on when the doors open This was answered by their inhouse expert, I hope it helps! They did not inform me of any further changes to the model so as far as I am aware there won't be any more surprises. If you need anything else please let me know. Kind regards, Anabel

The engine sounds and the interior light are worthwhile additions I don't think I've see n mentioned before. It should be fairly easy to add lights to the fog lights and just wire them to the headlights.

@@GaryTabarJr That is what I'm thinking. Couple of minor holes in rear plastic of fog lights and link the bulb wiring into the loop. It's a simple fix just slightly peeved they changed the design without informing.

@@simonherbert2237 exactly..and ALL the Eaglemoss website pics, poster and magazines ALL show it working. The license plate is missing two outside lines...someone said that is accurate, BUT the prop replica they just started sending out has the edge lines all the way around. This is starting to feel like a Darth Vader deal.

@@GaryTabarJr I agree. I packed in the terminator because they couldn't figure out the finger joints. The reason I contacted was also due to the filter pan top not being chromed. I wanted confirmation nothing else was going to change as its becoming a model that is different to what was advertised. As its pretty close to £1500 with the special issues that are now coming. Did you also notice in the instructions for stage 9 tips. That there is also going to be transfers?

Just received an email this morning saying that they are debiting my account in 2 days for the first of two specials. For the proton packs and trap. What the hell is this. I didn't sign up for specials. Never mind the 2 day notice. Got to say am not pleased with this development. Will definitely be ringing them when they open tomorrow, as I'm still to receive a reply from an email sent over a week ago.

@@WorldofWayneUK I figured they would do the proton packs at some point. But thought it would be towards the end of the build, not at the start. I will get them. Just with what's going on at the moment a bit more notice than 2 days would have been nice.

Update. Spoke to them today regarding the changes in the build. They state that they were unaware of any changes and as far as they were concerned the bottom lights will be set to light up and the top of the filter that came black should have been chrome as advertised. They told me that they are looking in to why these parts have shipped differently to what was advertised and will update me when they have an answer from manufacturers. They also apologised for not informing me in advance that the specials were in play. A letter was supposed to go out with the original shipment. 👍

@@simonherbert2237 So like myself, they indicated the fog lights were supposed to work, but upon followup they are back pedaling and saying they won't be working. I'm pretty sure I can find a shot from the film where they are actually on.

Wow holy lack of detail color Batman. You’d think for what we builders pay these companies(which some companies actually do the extra) could use a bit of paint so we have a little less custom work to do
