I have just received parts 27 to 30 in the USA. The ph0 00 000 screwdriver set and the magnifying headset worked great. I did have to use a pair of needle nosed pliers and regular pliers for the Engine Bulkhead.

That pipe is just another over flow pipe. Loving the build as all ways. Stay safe all

While I think of it, you mentioned making sure bits are equally screwed on (12:10 ish). What about measuring, then putting a small piece of tape where you measured? Screw up to the tape then remove it. Repeat the other end. Then you know they're equal and the OCD is happy :) (Same idea as drilling to a specific depth just adapted)

possibly a relief hose. Of interest, I have been to New York to look at a refresh job on a '59 Caddy with 7,500 ORIGINAL miles. It's a Coupe De Ville with the HD engine, same as the Hearse. Got 400 pictures, a couple of dozen under the hood. The only non original parts are hoses, belts and filters. I will send you copies for reference.

Wayne, the tube coming off of the radiator is a drain tube. The cooling system on that car does not have an overflow tank. When it overheats, the radiator cap releases pressure out of that tube, right to the ground.
@WorldofWayneUK4 жыл бұрын
It's not that tube. I have one coming out the back of the engine too

Hi Wayne. Just a suggestion but why don't you get a (Gaugemaster GM619 lubricator tube). It's good for all them oiling jobs on kits and trains. you also don't waste any oil.
@zapper3024 жыл бұрын
The pipe would be an over flow tube for the radiator. Vehicles now have a tank that the tube goes into.

Yep. There is a pipe at the back of the engine too

Hello Wayne, great video mate, while watching the video, I thought of a new T-Shirt logo, a bit rude but here we go, Watch Me On World of Wayne, I Do A Lot Of Screwing. It just popped in my head and I couldn’t stop laughing, Lee.

@world of Wayne. I watch your vids because I’m doing the ecto-1 build also. You help out so much when watching you build. I even bought the same screw driver you use. I’m on stage 11 and counting. How many total issues are there?
@WorldofWayneUK4 жыл бұрын
141 stages. I think that's about 35 issues

That random pipe is for the pressure release on the radiator when the temperature increases above the acceptable level, on modern cars it goes to the expansion tank. On older cars when they get too hot you'd see steam coming from under the car so it would be directed to the floor and not into the engine bay. This pressure release would first let you know the water in the radiator is too hot and would reduce the chance of the radiator springing a leak. Hope that was not too long an explanation for you Wayne?
@WorldofWayneUK4 жыл бұрын
Yep. That's the front pipe near the radiator cap. There is one at the back of the engine too. I wasn't sure what that one was for.
@jeffreyfearn56624 жыл бұрын
@@WorldofWayneUK I think that would be a breather pipe, I'm not a mechanic either but when I do know things it does help to pass on some knowledge. Great videos, sadly I don't get much chance to do the model building... about half way in my falcon build, would like to find some figures I could use in it as well.

Finally got to do this part Wayne, & found it very problematic. Especially the pipes. The main one I had a problem with is the power break reservoirfluid line. Can not see where it attaches to the engine, so will just super glue it to a part of the engine where it can not be seen. Instructions are not very good with some parts.

Found more inconsistencies between the build and the photo on the web site. The windscreen wiper motor is silver in the build, but black in the photo. Its hard to tell, but it looks like the other silver items you put on the bulkhead are black in the original photo?
@Milner624 жыл бұрын
I found Vallejo black model paint matches the black used on the kit perfectly. I used it to paint the generator black as there should be very little bare metal on it. Will be doing the same thing with the wiper motor and the master cylinder will be painted a greyish iron color instead of silver. Im just trying to figure out why they have the fuel pump going to the heater box. This is considerably further ahead than I am so it gives me time to plan on mine.

The hose from the radiator cap dose not connect to anything for those years. It is just for releasing pressure and it just stays beside the radiator. I think the real one would be made from a metal tube.
@lightman5974 жыл бұрын
i use a small bradawl to open up the pipe ends
@carlpochin93834 жыл бұрын
The tube fitted on the radiator is a overflow tube it would just hang down contacted to the frame at the bottom . As for the tubes at the back of the engine is going to be a nightmare to fit especially the silver part

@bosscastle14 жыл бұрын
Weird they have the fuel inlet line (they call it air filter control pipe?) running back over the exhaust and into the bulkhead??, not only would that cause vapour lock due to heat in that area (and be a fire waiting to happen as well as fuel line being in passenger compartment! ) in the real world, it is wrong unless the ecto is like that for some odd reason. The fuel line joins the full length metal line on the chassis frame roughly below the generator/alternator. I am making a mental list of all the errors and inaccuracies for when they release this in Australia :) Watching this build with keen interest

Great video, not sure what it was but there seems to be an background buzz/noise every time you speak ? When you stop talking the noise stops and there's silence, may be interference ? I would have said it was your 3d printer in the background, which I can't remember hearing at any time in past videos. But but you said you've moved that, so it's not that... This is the first time I've heard this on the any of your videos and I think I've watched them all. Keep up the good work.
