Hi Wayne, I am not personally doing this build, but I am following your build as I like the way you explain the way you do things which help in other projects I do. Just an observation, I see you have fitted the glass nose but I do not see an actual bombsight inside, is there one included or is it something yhat has been missed out ?

I'm notnsurem we aren't meant to minstrel it yet. I just put it in to hold the front fuselage together.

There wasn't a co-pilot. The flight engineer controlled most of the functions

Just a simple question - Why does this Lancaster Bomber not have a copilot seat? Is there another area for a copilot or does the bomber simply not have a copilot?

@@WorldofWayneUK Actually - I just Googled it and determined that the British version of the Lancaster did NOT have a copilot. It was said that due to a shortage of pilots there was no need to put two pilots in one plane. The internet said that the Australian version of the plane may have had a fold away jump seat with swing out controls.

They had a crew member called a😢 Flight Engineer who either stood or sat on a fold out seat next to the pilot. His main duties were to manage the aircraft systems and engines. I believe he received enough training to keep the aircraft under control while the rest of the crew bailed out in the event of pilot incapacitation. He would need to pull the pilot out of his seat first to do this. In the Dambusters film, Gibson says this and also nicely shows the interaction between pilot and F/E (played by Robert Shaw) during pre takeoff checks.
