Dang, I built a "one hit wonder" subwoofer enclosure a while back too! Had to toss it in the trash. The best enclosure for my dual SVR-12's is a sealed enclosure, running them at 1,200 watts total at 4 Ohm (max damping/watts on a JL Audio HD 1200/1), facing "backwards" in the trunk of my GS400. I also took your advice, and added 2X Slaps M12-V2 passive radiators to the sealed box, which now hits louder, and lower (down to 21 Hz). Thanks for your expert advice, and dope videos BBH!

The bad part about sticking in the sround is if it gets damaged or over time ends up brittle you can't replace it the speaker has to be reconed to fix it if thats the case it should in my opinion at least have a bolt on style spider landing so recone is easier to do as a complete drop in recone kit. 💯🫡✌️👌 using a car primer spray gun at a high psi give full coverage and won't sock up glue. But the gun has to be cleaned exactly well after use for reuse. 💯👌✌️👍

@BudgetBassHead- Thank you for taking your time to make this video❤ Will you please consider showing us the bandwidth of this current sub/enclosure combo, before you change it? Example: Turn the volume up, only till you hit a 140.0 Db, @ 36 Hz. Then leave the volume there, & just turn your bass knob down, or pause your track. Then test every freq. @ the same volume starting @ 15 Hz, & go up to around 50 Hz, to show how flat, or not, the output is, before changes. This way, we can ALL see, the actual results from your changes. Thanks in advance, ❤️ your videos.

I love 18-60hz percieved flat, in reality it favors the lows but cabin gain lets the highs come through...1 window open and the 5hit get deep 22 hz. Im trying to get the most bang for weight ratio atm cause my rx8 springs cant handle more than 150lb 😢
@agungmahendra1068Ай бұрын
If the aim of adding 45° corner bracing is to minimize air turbulence in the box, why are only vertical joints given corner bracing? Why not also add it to horizontal joints?
@BudgetBassHeadАй бұрын
When air is compressed inside the chamber it does compress in all directions. However the port forces the air to flow horizontally. Therefore adding vertical bracing in the corners assist with the air flow during compression.
@down2earth838Ай бұрын
I love when people say they put 45s in corners ? So what happened to top and bottom corners ? Does the air movement know the difference from wall 45s to top and bottom box 45s?
@BudgetBassHeadАй бұрын
The air is moving in laterally in the enclosure; via compression created by the cone's movement. It is them forced in the direction of the port, laterally or horizontally. Which is why most of us place the 45s in the corners in which the air flow is most likely channeled. But I do understand why you made that statement.

Man.. I am trying to put together a sub for the first time in 30 years. Just a Dayton Audio 8" HF in a sealed box.. trying to make two of them for home theater use. I wanted more musical and tight bass but could still hit lows. Haven't finished it.. 13x13x13 size has it tuned to about 41hz I think it was. Using Term Pro to dial things in. Also had a ported design down to 23hz but couldn't get the air velocity right on a small enough box. Will only be feeding about 150 watts to each. Dont expect them to shake the room much but hoping a pair of them sound better than my 25 year old 12" Infinity sub.
