Judging by the video there's doesn't seem to be much delay, and what little delay there is it's probably due to some webcam syncronization issues, so one could probably get pretty far at evo with one of those. It depends on the person of course, a pro will definitely get far with watever tools he uses.

Have finished my hitbox-shoebox-zerodelay controller and I want to tell you, guys, that it might be a bit trickier to drill those button holes for hitbox layout, as you need to place them pretty close to each other. So be patient and drill it at slow pace, otherwise there's risk of destroying the surface.

I built a arcade stick controller for my old school NES. Used a similar joystick and button kit as yours. Instead of the USB decoder board I used a cheap aftermarket NES controller. I put the prototype in a small pizza box. Workes amazingly well.

Gosh, I would consider this set up for R-Type alone. When I was in college back in the early 90's I used to play R-type on an arcade machine every lunchtime in the local fish and chip shop before buying my lunch; arcade games like this are a treasured memory from my misspent youth.

Nothing wrong with a cardboard box for housing a system. Back in the 90's I built a 386/486 (can't remember which) inside a VCR box. I built it for testing purposes - if I wanted to test cards, RAM, hard drives, all I had to do was lift the top flaps on the box, and the whole thing was there for me to access. I could play NES games on it too, and also the first Duke Nukem. :) I built it from scrap parts and spares, but it was a decent system for the time. :)

Now put a Raspberry Pi in there, running Retropie, or for way less cash stick an OrangePi, running Retrorangepi into it. :)

@QuartzIsAnOxide7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i do have some plastic sheets i could use, and i also have some really hard cardboard boxes around 0.5cm thick which are almost as sturdy as wood, but i think using real wood would be the best option.
@sonickid15487 жыл бұрын
Eric Lecarde also these buttons are cheap but a good budget option. People usually reccomend sanwa buttons as there high quality but cost more. But yea wood is good and is what I'm planning on doing. @Dddsasul7 жыл бұрын
Probably, it should work but if not there's always the option of 3rd party software such as x360ce. If that thing outputs as any kind of controller (and it should) you can map it with x360ce to a xbox controller which I'm 99% sure it works on Tekken, you just gotta drop the dll-s into the right folder.
