Nice video but if I can offer some constructive criticism, 12mins to explain that you welded some metal together and you didn't show it in action so we could see the effectiveness was too long.

Nice! The L-Brackets worked great for the handle!

Thanks! It worked surprisingly well and had been very sturdy.

The 3 piece of angle in the middle are raised up due to installing then on top on the outer boarder. I imagine it will work just fine but I I'm thinking of building one too and might make it so all pieces will make contact with the ground.

Initially I had the same worry, but realized most of the commercial versions did it this way. After playing around with a few ideas I found this would make it the most sturdy and ended up working really well.

Before welding that zinc coated bar place the bar in white vinegar over night the acidic acid in the vinegar will remove the zinc coating! 😁🛫

Going to get the pricing on the 3/4” x 3/4” angle iron. If it works out being cheaper then the store bought one I’ll borrow my neighbors welding set to make the lawn leveling rake. Many thanks and saving your video to find it easier once the material is bought. Great vid!!

Excellent! I was able to build this one for a fraction of what it would cost to buy a store bought one. Good luck!

Can you tell me how much it weighs? Just how heavy is it? Love the DIY idea. Thank you
@travisadventureprojects45783 жыл бұрын
I haven't weighed it but based on the material weight I'd estimate around 5-7lbs. It's not unmanagble by any means, but it does have some weight to it and you notice it in your shoulders after some use. The nice part is the weight helps it settle through your leveling dirt so the rake does all the work.

Based on his dimensions, he has 16'-6" of angle iron. At .59 lb/ft, it's about 9.75 lbs plus the handle

Hey whats your thoughts on the welder you got. I was thinking of getting one when they go on sale.

I like it! It works well for the little projects around the house and it doesn't break the bank. I'm planning on getting gas so I cN set if up for MIG welding soon.

Is it really heavy? Or is it just right and easy to work with?
@travisadventureprojects45783 жыл бұрын
It's pretty comfortable, maybe a little on the heavy side but still manageable. I find the weight is just right to handle but still enough to level really nice.
