the sound card arrives with hot glue over all connectors, how to do you remove it from yours

@mikefox2475 just melt it with a soldering iron and remove it as much as you can identify the pins. A little bit of glue left is OK as long as you can get the solder to stick. 🙂

Where did you get the passive infrared sensor

From amazon, I think if you search for Mini PIR Sensor it comes up, there are 2 versions, this one and one with the pcb flat ajecent to the sensor, Both versions work just fine :) Avoid those large ones, they have bad reviews and will likely be problematic, and sprodadically just go off

So I'm trying to get this to work. As far as I can tell it's wired correctly but my problem is that when it senses motion the music starts, but stops when it senses motion again. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Yes, It will do that, you can configure the little music board, it comes with a little sheet with instructions on what resistors to remove for which mode you want, for example play only when triggered and stop when motion stops, play full sound until finnished, or the default one is play full song unless more motion is detected, it stops the music. I don't have any here to show but yup you can fix it to how you want, it's working 🙂

It plays a couple second part of the song when turning it on, is that normal?

@BowMonkey71 yup this is because the sensor activates the moment it has power. After 5 seconds it will detect movement so the pin is high again, this stops the music, the music board is configurable by removing certain resistors the little leaflet tells you what they do, for example it can play the full track stored regardless if the sensor is activated again, or it can stop and start each time it's triggered like pause and play, I just keep it default, so further movment stops the current playing track, even though the storage can hold multiple sounds, ild advise only use 1 track, as it will loop through them all before eventually stopping. Lol. Ild also try keep the sounds short about 5-10 seconds, it can be a bit jarring if it goes off alot, if it plays for a long period.

I build one of these for my sister when i was a little kid she used to scare me with da boy tommy's candy man, i placed that song on there for fun but if i turn it on the whole song plays it doesnt stop when theres no motion in front of it. How can i fix this?
