Boy the comments on this are so demanding.... You've done a great job and most people should figure this out on their own. I don't know why so many people think that they are owed a tutorial and act irritated because "measurements" and "plans" are not given. Frankly you should sell them a plan if they ask for it. Well done you inspired me and I will struggle with the process. Cheers and enjoy your boating!!!

Thanks man! That struggle with the process isn't half bad in my opinion, but at the same time I understand those who would like to have comfort of plans, so if I'd have them, I'd gladly share Cheers!

That shot of the boat on top of that car reminds me of my 8 ft. duckboat on the top of my old Nissan two door station wagon. It got kinda scary heading to the lake doing around 65-70 mph on the highway. The wind sailing up the windshield of the car, under the boat gave it an airplane effect and made the car lose it's steering because it took all the weight off the front wheels! I immediately slowed down to get control of it! Be careful when carrying a boat on top of a small car.

Reinforce the transom, build out that middle seat as a box that you fill with buoyancy foam, and she'd probably take a 5 horse tiller outboard without even flinching.

Great job on the little boats can you give the dimensions of the parts that you cut out and you said something about the seat not being in the right position where would you locate it at thanks for sharing great job on the boat and the video
@Odi00001
@Odi00001 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sides are 335x45cm, back is 105cm and seat is 120cm long. Seat position is ok, maybe it could go a bit more to the front, but even with four people on board it was still comfortable to row. Thing that i would change is the spacer on the front ( 3:35 ), it could be wider so the boat wouldn't be so pointy. Making this shape would be easier on kind of a frame, as seen on this cool video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2GtY2VugMtmrqs

@Odi00001
@Odi00001 3 жыл бұрын
I think I checked some dimensions on a plan like that www.dixdesign.com/dingplan.gif But didn't stick to them as I went with the build. If I were building it for the second time, I would build a simple frame based on some plan, bending sides 'freehand' for putting center bench and bottom 10 times was tiring.

Materials are shown on first slides, plus few recycled planks for benches. So three sheets of plywood. I wrote about thickness in previous comments.

How much money did it costs roughly to make this boat?
@Odi00001
@Odi00001 3 жыл бұрын
About 300pln (80$ maybe) for plywood and epoxy. Most of the wood parts were made from some scrap laying around, paint was also some leftover. Buying plywood now and covering whole thing in epoxy, which I recommend, would be more expensive.

@@Odi00001 okay thanks :) I am thinking of making one too in the summer could you help me by maybe giving me some of the exact measurements you used for all the pieces you had to saw?
@Odi00001
@Odi00001 3 жыл бұрын
@@roykexd Writing all the dimensions would make a complicated plan, and if you change one thing, the rest may also need adjustment. The dimensions I started with were just sides height, total length and width (I have written those in response to HUX METAL WORKS comment. Other dimesions can be changed for builders liking. Your local standard plywood sizes also are important. You could actually build a boat like this or just a bit smaller with only 2 sheets of plywood, cutting one sheet into three stripes for sides and the back.
