Be sure to also consider Jer Schmidt's design. After viewing many different grinder videos, I went with his hand am extremely happy with it!

Thanks for the build video and the link to HouseMade. I've always wanted to get into metalworking and have bookmarked these for when I do. Hopefully you'll give an update in the future as to how it's working out for you. - Chris

I’m ordering mine Monday! Very excited! Been using a 1x30 Harbor Freight to make knives. Ready to take the next step to a big boy grinder and my skill level is too. I do lots of other metal work as well, but just a hobby guy. I was pumped to see that a guy with about my welding skill level did well assembling it. I am impressed with the job you did! Seems like a solid machine for half the price once you include some sweat equity. Good job!

Man, what an amazing work! Really well done!!! 😃 Unfortunately there aren't kits like that here in Brazil... But some day I'm going to get one, I just don't know how yet. 😂 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I like the HM because it flips over on it's side for surface grinding, but I liked Jeremy Schmidt's stationary table, so I incorporated both into my DIY build. The HM would be so much more functional if the user didn't have to pull out the table just to put it back in after the unit is flipped sideways.

I really want one of these. But how often do you rotate it to horizontal? Would you do this again or buy the vevor for $900?

Thanks for checking out the video! This may be a long response to your question but…. I haven’t used the vector grinder so i can’t compare the 2 but I was having the same thoughts you are before i bought the kit I have. I do have a vevor vacuum pump that came to me damaged. I contacted vevor and they said sorry but they couldn’t give me a replacement and to contact the third party supplier I bought it from (Amazon). I eventually complained enough that they did send me a replacement but it was a lot of trouble and 3 additional weeks to get a working unit. As for the grinders and price, the base kit is under 800 bucks. The motor and VFD are another 350 so $1150 total. It’s not much more than the Vevor grinder. I’ve been adding attachments and now starting to make accessories for my grinder but I didn’t have to spend that money up front to get grinding. For most of my life, I bought the cheap version of things and regretted it and in most cases ended up getting the better one anyway. Now days I’m in the buy once, cry once camp ( although I did like the Ameriprise grinder and set up but $4k is over the line for how much I will use the grinder). I don’t regret the revolution kit at all! I have used the horizontal feature twice in the last 2 months. It is in that orientation now. I’m making some hand plane irons and the sides need to be perfectly straight. The horizontal orientation seems to work well for that kind of work. I hope this helps but let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!

Great video! Thank you so much for your narration. So many of these videos, as well as they are, however, without any narration, they all seem to be lacking something. So thanks for taking the time to narrate.

I bought their PDF files and built one from scratch. You DO NOT have to be AS accurate as he makes it seem. So don't be scared if your welds aren't super perfect nor your alignment.
