Your very blessed to have a brother who shares your hobby. Great video!

I love it when hams save these old antennas. I snatch up broken antennas when I can for repair or the tubing. A friend of mine and fellow ham made a 40 meter rotatable with a coil in the middle for matching.

I have a much shorter end-loaded rotary dipole here near Buffalo, NY, but my lot is only 40 feet wide!. Your dipole looks great, but it would touch both sides of my back yard, hi! My dipole is the 40 - 2 meter MFJ-1775. I assembled it for just 40 - 10 meters, it is 14 feet long and the 2:1 SWR bandwidth is only 60 kHz on 40, but in the clear and mast-mounted makes up for the narrow bandwidth. Nice video and a great looking antenna. 73, Keith, WB2VUO here near Buffalo, NY

Yall done a great job putting the antenna together. And thanks for the parts list that a real big help. Maybe I can get one UP in the air as you have done. 73 AE4OY William A. Peacock,Sr. EM-81UF

In 1966, if you had a 40 meter dipole than you also had a 15 meter dipole. But only in 1966.

Hello, could you please let me know where I can find the measures for this antenna? Thanks.

would traps not be easier than the linear loading ?
@radionb3i6 жыл бұрын
M2 thinks so. They have replaced their linear loaded 40 meter elements with coils they say are really efficient. However in our homemade situation using a little wire is so simple and inexpensive but also works really well.

do you have the tubing schedule and lengths available?
@radionb3i5 жыл бұрын
Here is what I bought. www.texastowers.com/aluminum-6.htm I just bought 6 foot lengths to it was shipped by UPS. The first section...1.250 I cut in half....Just 3 foot each side. The next section is 6 foot... 1.125 followed by a 6 foot 1.0 inch tube. You need to use a 1.0 tube on both sides of the 7/8 inch insulator so I used 4 - 1.0 inch tubes on both sides of the insulator from Cushcraft. The off sets from M2 fits the 1 inch OD tubing. After the section 1 inch tube I cut the rest of the tubes in half using 3 foot sections till the end of the element. The only problem I had was the string stretched in time..... make sure you use Philly strand or non stretchable rope to support the weight of the long element. Doubling the tubing up in the first two sections also adds strength to the element.

I saw you have a great project....lot of tall trees surrounding open yard....Just perfect for wires and other antennas. Best wishes.
