We hired pioneer pole buildings to build an equipment barn. It will house our equipment and serve as a mechanics shop as well.

It really changes everything having a place to bring equipment indoors and store equipment out of the weather. I don’t miss the years of crawling around in the snow under a tractor to replace a hose! Best of luck with your new building!

do you mind if i ask about how much this cost including the concrete pur you need? (barn + gravel +crete)
@ronaldpigeon4713 Жыл бұрын
Very nice hard to capture details. I have been planning for years, only my pad is in. Costs are too high. Wish I known back years ago what would happen to material over pricing today. On me. Entertaining to watch. Thanks.

Would like to have seen a closer view of the beams attached to the posts. Did you notch both sides or one side?

I will take a closer look when I get home to see how they were attached.

What were they using to attach the roof steel? They were getting that on fast.
@AgapeFarmRanch2 жыл бұрын
they use a hex head screw with a rubber washer. They are made to punch through the steel but have wood threads to grab the rafter.
@FireflyHill243 жыл бұрын
So approximately what does a barn this size go for in 2021 with the high lumber and steel prices
@AgapeFarmRanch3 жыл бұрын
The price was about 10-15 percent higher. We signed the contract back in January.
@tt7hvn3 жыл бұрын
With the price of wood right now, I'm curious why you didn't go with steel trusses? Because that's what I plan on doing and I prefer the vaulted look over a flat ceiling....easy to build a loft
@AgapeFarmRanch3 жыл бұрын
We had locked in the price back at the end of December. The price was higher than the year before but not what it is at present.

No wet set brackets? Can you recommend builder for Monmouth County N.J please?
@AgapeFarmRanch Жыл бұрын
No wet set. It’s really not going anywhere. Maybe in tornado or straight line wind areas I would consider it. Pioneer pole buildings is who I used. They are great to work with and if you want something done beyond the code, they will work with you. Best of luck with your build!

Do you know why the extra post on the left side of the big opening? Also seems like an extra post in the back left corner on the long wall.
@AgapeFarmRanch11 ай бұрын
Yes, that is to get the framing for the man door. It can be done with just some light framing but I was glad to see them do it this way. This way the door hinges on a post.

This is a great video. I am just in the stages of planning and this is the most perfect size for my 20 acre property. May I ask where you got the plans for it and if you submitted it yourself to the town or if you had an engineer do it? I am all for doing as much as I can myself if not all :) Again, great video, thank you for taking the time to put it together, very much enjoyed it.

We hired pioneer pole buildings and they handled everything for us. Very professional and a good quality build. They were also able to provide the shortest lead time of anyone in our area. Good luck on your project!

@@AgapeFarmRanch thank you for the quick reply. We're up in Southern Ontario Canada so I doubt Pioneer will come up here LOL. The local builders here have an 18-month wait time now they're that busy.

Awesome video mate. What is the roof pitch? What size posts did you use? How far are the posts in the ground? Keep up the great content brother 👍🏻😎
@AgapeFarmRanch7 ай бұрын
Sorry im just seeing this now. Id have to go look at the plans for the roof pitch. I know it was rated for heavy North East snow. posts are 4x6". The holes were dug to 48" and then a concrete pancake of about 6" was place in the bottom so the posts are 42" deep.
@badgerfactory7 ай бұрын
looks like 5/12 pitch
@BereanFellowship2 жыл бұрын
how far apart are the poles?
@AgapeFarmRanch2 жыл бұрын
Poles are max 8’. They end up being closer in places depending on windows and doors. Girts and purlins are 24”.

@AgapeFarmRanch Жыл бұрын
Yeah, sorry about that. I was at work and my some was filming that day. They just used a tele handler to send them up. It was more impressive on our smaller barn where they used a long boom on a skid steer to place them!
@jamesrichter435411 ай бұрын
Nice what was the price on it
@AgapeFarmRanch11 ай бұрын
Since we are a non-profit using our land for ministry, there were a bunch of folks giving us deals and even free labor. I think you would be looking at 40k on the building and about 15-20k on concrete.

7:20; no fall protection, that's nice. This is why pole barn contractors give legitimate commercial GC's a bad name.

It really isn't fair. In some states the customer can be held liable for accidents as the employer. Most people have no idea.

aND...you used 2 DIFFERENT materials in the 2 different tapes. Ooops. Close but no cigar. Try using the SAME single tape for BOTH calculations.
@AgapeFarmRanch3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to comment. The two different tapes are both vinyl and are within a 1/4" of each other over 100'. You should realize that we were simply finding the corners to know where to drill. It can be off by 6" and it wouldn't matter. Its when you set your poles that you have to be right on. Hope that helps you to understand. Have a great day.
