A fellow motor enthusiast here. My grandfather owned a classic car restoration & dealership when I was a kid, so I grew up around all the classic 50s-70s cars, esp of the muscle variety. I didnt have a chance growing up around that much HP... haha I just recently found your channel, and as a professional perfectionist in the field of quantitative strategy development, I absolutely love your attention to every detail, to leave not bolt unturned, and doing rebuilds or upgrades the right way. Kind of a lateral trade, the BMW is nice but the is300 will always be more reliable even if it is old. Another simple upgrade to the is300 would be ls400 front brake calipers, cheap and easy front big brake kit.

“Reputable” shop plus outside BMW tech said it’s blown due to poorly executed Oil filter housing gasket replacement where they didn’t bleed the System properly. So either two different sources lied to me or the main bearing spun and spit metal shavings into the oil. We will see

The GE’s make 400- 450 safe with a turbo kit . Upgrade head gasket and studs and you are making decent power .

The problem with Plasti Dip is people apply it like paint and then it's impossible to peal. I'm no specialist but from what I know, it must be much thicker then paint to peal properly after.
