As was the case with the first Cities: Skylines II gameplay video, this one is limited to thirty minutes - so there's a few hops around the city here and there to try and show you as much of everything I worked on as I possibly can! Sometime shortly after the game launches I'll make a bonus video going in and looking more in-depth at everything that wasn't shown in that first video, this one, and the upcoming third episode too! Enjoy! :)

The way I nearly lost my mind when you slid that intersection over the highway and placed it. It seems like they've really reduced a lot of the more tedious aspects of CS 1 and replaced them with far cooler problems like the bottlenecks and the car crashes. I can't wait to see this game in all it's glory

Thank you for letting us have another look of Cities 2 :) I think it generally looks good! Though for me personally still a few points I would like to see improved - - It seems that all urban roads come default with street parking, which makes them unnecessarily wide! That's why you have had to demolish some houses when upgrading the 2-lane roads to 4 lanes @5:15, when technically the existing road should have enough space for 4 lanes without on-street parking. I wish they would let us choose to build urban roads without street parking in the first place. - While the seasonal effects are rather nice overall, I think some key details are missing... like all trees (not only conifers) still have their leaves on, and the road surfaces don't look wet enough! Hopefully this will get sorted out in actual release... - I wish they would let us build freeform parks, or fillers between buildings. That's actually a very nice feature I remembered from Cities XL. It makes sense that buildings and structures are more squarely oriented in real life, but parks and green spaces definitely come in may irregular shapes... That would make it so much more realistic! - Another visual detail - the pillars on the elevated railway are much too far apart! They are, to quote the 2nd official stream of Cities 2, "suspended by faith"... Hopefully things will still get polished before release! Also I discovered and subscribed to your channel because of Cities 2, so that's the first good thing that came out of it for now :) Looking forward to your next video!

That intersection attaching to existing highways is amazing... they are blowing me out of the park with all these cool features. One thing i would like is better zoning around curved roads, it would allow for more interesting looking neighbourhoods and housing

It's an incomplete game. Biffa (City Skylines KZbinr) said in his video that the feature exists in the game but they haven't enabled it in these builds yet. Might be that they are still working on it. Biffa is one of the guys who made one of the cities for the CS2 trailer.

Also please make the game where you don’t rely on mods or DLC’s that cost hundreds. Edit: To avoid confusion. I am asking Paradox interactive to do it if they see this comment.

I just adore fact that when you remove a rode, cars are stopping, waiting for a while (you can almost hear tiny "what the f*") and than slowly going back to still existing roads :D
@stevekirkby6570 Жыл бұрын
Loving the trains - but for realism, you need to look into minimum turning radii; its about 650m for a trains doing 75 - although can come down to about 350 in a shunting yard. Higher speeds need a bigger radii - just giving an ide here a 250 mph high speed 'super train' (think japan) needs a radius of 7km !!!! :) I know its, confusing using mph and meters in the same sentance, but you get my drift.

Oh my goodness! That is absolutely fabulous that you don't have to demolish your road to add the new intersections. Yay!!!
@phildiop8248 Жыл бұрын
I'm definitely going to get the intersection advancement at the very end. It's useful and all, but building them yourself is like a big part of the game, and custom interchanges on bend highways or on limited amount of space are the most organic and nice looking.

The one big pet peeve I had about CS1 was that trains were treated like wooden roller coasters in that you'd always see people lay ridiculous track grades. I tried to keep the track as flat as possible and orient the roads around the track. Steep inclines just looked wrong and broke immersion for see.

The gated community policy is not like the old town policy. The old town policy simply banned cars from people who did not live there, the gated community policy bans anyone who doesn't live there. They are a thing so I guess perhaps it's justified that they're there, but it's a terrible practice that separates the wealthy from everyone else.
