Since you don’t like building custom trees/don’t know what to do with some open rooms and how to age them… you should build one big tree thats growing through the house. With lots of wood and leaves around that will definitely show aging

From now on, I think for every major update, you should expand your 4x4 map wall by 1 layer, so it progressively grows through the games age, almost kinda tells a story.
