Great vid, thank you. Great choice on camera. I’m an original owner of the OG and I still have it in my studio with my other cameras. I wanted to share with our community some tips on this camera because it’s a very viable camera in 2024. This camera really needs an external monitor for focus and exposure…no duh, but get a monitor that has an 8.4v out. The monitor and camera can operate off the Sony np-970 on the monitor- turn the monitor on first then the camera. I have a cheap Feelworld monitor that works great. Keeps everything compact and the np batteries are cheap. I recently purchased a laowa 7.5 f2.1 zero d lens for this camera that is a fantastic combination, sharp and is around 22mm with the crop factor. The laowa also works great on my BM 4k as an ultra wide at around 15mm. While this next tip needs a good computer, Topaz ai software can up the resolution to 4k and resolve detail to rival any camera. It can do slow motion too with mixed results. My other cameras need rigging and can’t be used as a carry-around camera but this little OG setup is perfect and fits easily in a backpack. Fellow filmmakers, ANY modern camera works great, go out and film stuff, get creative. Cheers!

Nice content! Pocket og and some affordable c-mount glass is a killer for mini cine rig. I also own the fujian ones and I still use it for casual filmaking. Good job!

Bought ours a couple years ago for $250 on MPB. They listed it as defective since it was dropping frames. They obviously didn't use the right card because it works flawlessly. Possibly my favorite camera of all time.

Love this, I'm inspired to get some Super 16 lenses for my GH5...with a little digital zoom they'd be very usable and probably still close to 3-4k resolution if shooting open gate. But also this is such a great solution for usable lenses on the BMPCC which I've never tried just because of that 3x crop. Great solution!
@jakehayden9989 ай бұрын
I would love to see the results on that. I bet the GH5 is awesome with C mount lenses

Love this video! What step up ring size did you get for your c mount lenses?
@moviedorkproductions94659 ай бұрын
Awesome Sauce! You know, the last shot with your puppy, you can definitely use that lens to emulate the look you would get by looking through a peephole of a door or a POV shot of a robot or childs toy. Just a suggestion... Thanks for the tutorial, I have a C mount 12.5-105mm f/2.8 studio lens that I now have a use for IF i can find an O.G. BMPCC. You now jave a new subscriber!

That 12.5 105mm sounds awesome. I love hearing about the lenses everyone uses in the C mount world. What brand makes it?

Random question, what app are you using @6:18 to switch between davinci resolve and Finder? Love that clean background workflow, great work as always!
@jakehayden9989 ай бұрын
It's actually not an app but "stage manager" within Mac OS. If you don't have it in your control center then you might need to update. I can't remember when they added it but I'm on Sonoma right now if that's helpful

great job ; you should get a cosmicar 6.5mm f1.4 (or F1.6/8) for 10 bucks, this one would work. Or get a X1,5 (or maybe X2 c mount converter - cosmicar or pentax) for your navitar, you won't have any vignetting, but it will make the lens a 12mm ish lens ; (or, your lens might work if you change the mount on the OG and put a 'deep' c mount MOUNT. (not sure if it's clear ; as you, i bought some wrong c mount lenses, way too many), new subscriber, love your stuff
