I came to your lovely channel once before, drawn by "straw-bale" building: and I was reminded to visit again by Don Johannes' channel, where he shares his part-time hermit life in an isolated reclaimed herder's hut high in the Italian alps. Very quiet, meditative, filled with kindness and beautiful filmography. Nice to revisit your beautiful place in Estonia: love this great chicken hut. It will be a little hard to clean, however, with that low people-door... respect from California!

I too found you from Johannes. I have been following you for a while. I don’t remember seeing a dog, only the cat.

I also was guided to your site by Johannes and have spent virtually all day ‘gorging’ on your lovely videos. Such hard work and so many great solutions to everything. I’m on vlog 14 so still have a way to go but I’m hooked. It’s fascinating to see the different approaches everyone has, all with their own reasons for doing it this or that way. I’m learning lots and now considering resanding my bathroom floor with a handheld sander - it’s not a very large surface… . Beautiful prints as well! All in all, I’m delighted to have found you and will continue watching in the new year i.e. tomorrow. 🥂 Happy 2024!

The chickens may love the bugs in their new house for tasty convenient snacks. Jonas seems like a quite capable carpenter….you two compliment each other well! I could resist no longer and just purchased the first print of my soon to be small collection of your amazing works of art! So many to choose from, but I’m starting with “The Fisherman”, and can’t wait to hang it on my wall!! Next I think will be the Willow if you still have them available. Oh, and I am blown away by how well the garden is doing. Thanks again for the beautiful and inspiring video!

Thanks for your wonderfull reply! Yes actually , the bugs might like them as a snack indeed :p Jonas has been learning on the way, he has never build a house before so it's not at all perfect but he loves to figure things out and has patience for woodworking (in contrast to me :p) So lovely you bought 'The fisherman'!! I will make your package ready soon, all the best and cheers!

My uncle built a cordwood shed on my property in the 1980s and it's still standing strong. There's only one log at ground level that will need replacing eventually. Love the look.

Do you have flying predators? If you do, having your chicken run so close to trees would necessitate putting a top on the chicken run to keep large birds away from your chickens. Most homesteaders do not consider having an enclosed run and end up losing chickens.also, chickens can dig under the wire so it's best to put something that will mitigate this as well as four legged predators from burrowing under the fence. If you incorporate these two safety measures, there will be no need to keep them cooped up if you go away for a few days. Just some "food" for thought.
