I made a working incubator with a cardboard box lined with aluminum foil. I hung a 100 w light bulb inside through a small hole in the top, and placed a cheap thermometer on the bottom. Poked holes in the box top until the temp stabilized at 100, a small plastic cup with water was also placed inside for humidity. 21 eggs labeled am and pm on opposite sides were placed on the bottom and turned by hand twice a day. 21 days later I had 20 live chicks and only one didn't hatch! Total cost...about $5.00

A DOG would be a smart choice, but not a corgi or a cattle dog because they are bred for herding, Which means nipping at the cattle's heels,Not guarding.instead, you should get a livestock guardian dog.I have a Great Pyrenees myself and she is super chill. Overall they're boring Basically just naps around and wakes up and barks,But has Never attacked because we've never had a need for it. They're great with kids and other dogs.
